Splatoon Dad ((For SideWinder))
It was a beautiful Saturday morning, the sun was out in shining and hardly had any clouds in the city of Inkopolis. In Flounder Heights, there is an excited Inkling girl that just turned fourteen years old a week ago. A time in every inkling's live that gains the human form and can join the ever loving sport Turf Wars. She got out of bed and changed into a blue Urchins Jersey and Urchins Cap. Looking herself int he Mirror and smiles. "Alright, today's the day, Kauai. Show them that you are a player." she said with a smile on her face
Once she was all geared up. She was rushing out of her room and tot he front door. "Dad! I'm going out with SideWinder in the city!" she calls out as she puts on her Cyan Trainers sneakers.

"Now hold on there young lady. Where's the fire?" Her father, Betta, stepped out of the kitchen with an apron on over his aloha shirt and black jean shorts. He was barefoot, and his tentacle hair was a bit messy since he didn't do much with it right after waking up. "You just woke up. Come have some breakfast. I've been slaving over a stove so your friend can wait."

"But dad." she said with a pout on her face. Taking off of her shoes and left them by the door as she goes to the table. "I'm finally old enough to do Turf War. I've been looking forward to this for a very long time." she tells him as she places her arms on the table. "I want to get out there and splat inklings!" she said excitedly. Tucking her indigo tentacle behind her right ear.

Her father sighed, rubbing a hand through his messy emerald green tentacle hair. The much larger thicker inkling placed a plate of pancakes in front of her. Betta was still a strong muscled man from his days in the military, but he'd developed a bit of a belly in recent years. He sat down at the table and with his own plate of pancakes and said, "When did I give you permission to do turf wars? Kauai, I know you're eager to run around and shoot other kids, but it's dangerous. I just don't think you're ready for that kind of action just yet." With that, he began helping himself to the food.

Even though she wanted to meet up with Sidewinder and join her first Turf War. She couldn't help but to have some of her dad's pancakes. Then her dad asked when he give her permission to even join. Which she looks at him confused. When he told her that he thinks that she is not ready, her eyes widen in surprise. "But dad! When an Inkling turns fourteen and go through the change, it's then we can preform in Turf War. Everyone I know is working on their rep. Summer is almost over and if I don't work on a rep then everyone at school will think I stale and I want to be fresh." she tells him. Serving herself some pancake and eating them quickly. "When you were my age you did Turf Wars." she said with her mouth filled of pancakes.

Betta raised his brow, not familiar with her lingo. "Stale? Fresh? Honestly the things you kids come up with nowadays. I'll tell you what's fresh. These pancakes." He chuckled at his own bad joke. "But seriously, I know you want to hang out with your friends, but there's better ways to do it. Maybe you and Sidewinder could go window shopping at the Arowana Mall? Or skateboarding at Blackbelly Skatepark?"

She groans and slap her hand against her eyes as he made that joke about his pancakes. "Dad." she grumbles. Then suggest other ideas for her to do that was not Turf Wars. "Dad." she said in a serious tone and looks him firmly in the eyes. "I've been waiting for a long time for this. I am going to meet up with SideWinder, I'm gonna get Splattershot Jr. gun and then we are going to join a Turf War." she tells him. Then gets up and heads for the door. Putting on her shoes.

Her father scowled and followed after her, taking her shoulder. "Hey now. Don't you just walk off like that after telling me, your father, what you can and can't do. You are not allowed to participate in turf wars, with or without Sidewinder. You can even watch if you want, but I forbid you from getting involved! I'm not discussing this with you Kauai, I'm telling you! Is that clear?" He scowled, his own gaze much more serious and authoritative that his daughter's.

She looks over her shoulder at her father as he tells her in his stern tone. That she can not talk to him that way or that even with Sidewinder, she is not allowed to join a Turf War. In fact, she was forbidden. Making her gasp. How could he do this to her? She was going to be a laughing stalk at school for being the first inkling to be banned from Turf Wars. When asked if she understood him, she nods her head. "Yes, sir." she said in a grumpy tone. "I'm still going to hang with Sidewinder." she tells him. Putting on her shoes and as she left she slams the door.
Kauai goes to her friend's place and knocks on the door. Still fuming over what her dad told her. It was so unfair, he did it when he was her age. Why couldn't she do it? She taps her foot as she waits for her friend to answer the door.

The inkling girl who answered the door was about Kauai's age. Her hair was a shade of yellow that matched that of the creamy tone of a banana. She was currently dressed in a school uniform, which their school didn't actually have one. It was just a popular and cute thing for girls to wear. She wore a pair of retro specs, not for fashion but because her eyesight actually wasn't great without them. And on her feet was a pair of purple casuals. Sidewinder smiled and said, "Hey there girl! Bout time you showed up! Come on in, ya look like someone slipped a bee in those tight black shorts of yours. What's wrong my squister?"
