Crevan looked up at Roy when the man told him that it was something he needed to think about and he knew that the man had a point so he nodded slightly. "Yea I know," he said quietly, not resisting as he was pulled into a hug, the boy just looking up at Roy when the man asked his question about whether or not he understood why he was upset. "Yea kinda, cause I could've been hurt," Crevan said quietly, not sure why the man cared if he got hurt since that one was still hard for him to really comprehend, that he had actually found someone that would care if something bad happened to him.

Roy was proud of the kid when he said he knew why it was that he was upset with him, and he nodded, "Yes that's right, I don't want you to get hurt or worse." he answered and sighed a bit, not sure if he was going to punish Crevan for this since it would help to make him remember next time, but at the same time the kid hadn't done it just for the heck of it. Eventually he made his decision. "Tonight, before bed time, I'm going to punish you for this...I'm sorry but this cannot repeat itself." he explained to the boy, rubbing his back.

"It's not because I'm being mean or don't like you, I'm trying to keep you safe, you can hate me if you want to, but I just want what's best for you." Roy explained, sighing softly. He didn't want to have to spank Crevan but it seemed that he had no choice.

Crevan was far from stupid and he knew just what would have likely happened if he'd been hit by that car, he was small for his age and didn't even weigh fifty pounds so he would very likely have been seriously hurt if not outright killed. So he told Roy that he knew why and then looked at the man when he said that he was going to punish him before bed that night. "Not...like before right?' he asked quietly, looking up at the man when he said that he wasn't trying to be mean and the rest of that.

Roy sighed sadly, feeling for the kid when he asked if the punishment was going to be like before. He looked into his eyes. "I'm not going to lie to you, Crevan. Yes, it's going to be a spanking." he answered, keeping his voice down so that the conversation was just between the two of them. "It's how I punish I'm afraid, and this has earned a certain type of spanking. Because I want you to remember the lesson in future." he sighed a bit and stood up right, putting a hand on the lad's shoulder. "But you will be forgiven and we can start anew when it's done." he assured.

He knew it wouldn't offer much comfort to the boy, but he was doing his best. He could risk coming across like an ogre for the sake of the kid's safety.

Crevan really didn't want to ask the question but when Roy brought up punishment he had to ask if it was going to be like before and he almost whimpered when told that it was going to be a spanking. "Don't like that method," he said quietly though he knew that he wasn't supposed to like it. When the man went on to say that it had earned a certain kind the boy was a bit nervous about that since Roy hadn't said that before. "Wh-what kind?" he couldn't keep himself from asking, turning his blue eyes toward the man once again.

Roy wasn't meaning to scare the boy, but he didn't want to lie to him or keep him in the dark about his punishment at bed time, so he told him that it was going to be a certain kind of punishment. He sighed at the whimper, it made his heart sink. He turned his gaze to the boy when he asked what kind it was going to be and he knelt down again. "It's going to be a little more painful than the other time I spanked you, Crevan. I won't hurt you seriously and I will not hurt you anywhere but your bottom." he explained to the boy. "If you want to, we can get it over with now, I know waiting for it can be worse than the actual punishment."

Crevan was not a happy child when it was confirmed that he was going to get a spanking and the way that Roy spoke about it made it sound ominous to the child so he couldn't help but ask. He looked a bit wide eyed when told that it was going to be a little more painful than the other time, that of course making him wary though surprisingly enough the reassurance that the man offered to him actually did help him. Crevan was uncertain when he was asked if he wanted to get it over with since he didn't much want to be spanked at all. "Can't we just skip it?" he asked quietly, knowing that it really wasn't that long before it would be dinner time and then bedtime so he wasn't going to rush it if he couldn't manage to talk Roy out of it.

Roy rose a brow and wanted to chuckle but felt like it would make the kid worse so he refrained from it. "Unfortunately that's one option that we can't go by." he answered honestly. The kid wasn't trying to make a break for it so that was a good sign and he felt like his words of comfort had helped a bit. "Well, we can keep playing at the park and go on about the day until bed time...and then get the punishment done. Or we can get it over with now and then relax about the rest of the day." he explained to the boy, letting him make the decision on it.

Crevan looked unhappy when Roy said that they couldn't just skip it, the little guy not the least bit happy about that one of course. "Really don't wanna," he said quietly before looking at Roy when the man gave the options, Crevan thinking about it before he said, "I'm just gonna go over here and play, okay?" He pointed in the direction of the playground as he said that and he actually waited for the man to answer him rather than just taking off. He didn't have much interest in playing on the playground equipment though he might have were the circumstances a bit different, but he'd also sort of lost the urge to play ball now too.

Roy was a bit upset that their plans to bond over a bit of soccer had been shattered but of course he wasn't going to hold the kid to that since he didn't want to make him feel bad or anything. He nodded when he said he was going to go over to the park and play. "Alright kiddo." he answered with a small smile, even though it was a bit of a sad one and he followed him back, sitting down on one of the benches to watch him play and keep an eye on him.
