"I know you care but...it's not like there's anything that you can do about it...and it's kinda embarrassing," Crevan told him, wanting to let the man know that he wasn't holding back on telling him because he didn't trust him or anything along those lines. He wasn't doing it to hurt the man after all, he just didn't want to admit that he had nightmares like a little kid. At the point when Roy told him that breakfast was on the table Crevan rose to his feet and made his way to the kitchen though he lacked any kind of real appetite on this particular morning.

"Alright, well you needn't be embarrassed to tell me anything kiddo, I would never judge you or make you feel bad for it." Roy explained to him, wanting Crevan to know that he was safe to say anything to him. "I can make you feel better, if I knew what it was..." he added when the kid said there was nothing he could do about it, Roy not so sure on that one. He followed the boy to the kitchen and sat down at his meal. "You don't have to eat it all bud, but eat a bit, okay?"

"I know," Crevan explained quietly when told that the man wouldn't judge him but knowing that and actually telling his guardian what his problems were was a different matter entirely. He followed Roy to the kitchen and sat down at the table, nodding his head slightly when he was told to try and eat a bit of his breakfast. "Okay," he said quietly, not fighting against it but at the same time not looking very enthused about it either.

He knew that Crevan often lost his appetite when he was in one of those moods, he wished the boy would talk to him about it, since it might make him feel better if he did, but he wouldn't ever force it. Even when he became the kid's Dad, he wouldn't force him to speak to him, but he hoped Crevan would feel more comfortable talking to him then. He started on his breakfast and glanced at the preteen, giving him a small smile. "How about we head out somewhere today? Get your mind off things?" he suggested.

Crevan was trying to eat his breakfast since his guardian had made it clear that he wanted him to at least try though the boy looked up again when Roy mentioned going somewhere. "Anywhere in mind?" he asked quietly, a look of interest in his blue eyes as he posed that question to the man and waited to see if he would have an answer to it or if he was more looking for Crevan to suggest somewhere.

"I was thinking we'd visit the bird gardens, I know you like animals, and I'd like to see the new humming bird section, personally." Roy answered with a smile, glad he could take whatever the boy's mind was on and turn it into something happier. After all, the bird gardens was a great place to visit, there were always such colourful birds there, and lots of things for families and loners to do.

"Hm, never heard of that place," Crevan said quietly when Roy told him the destination that he had in mind. Not that he really knew a great deal about the city despite having grown up near here, the boy not having had the opportunity to get out much after all. The small smile remained on his face, it really didn't take much to please Crevan, he was used to very little.

"It's been closed for a while, and only just been re-opened recently." Roy explained, which was why the lad probably hadn't heard of it before. He looked at the boy when he smiled, and that warmed his heart a bit, it was always nice to see him happy. The man finished his breakfast and washed the dishes. "Okay, go grab your shoes and we'll head out." he informed, glancing at the clock, thinking they should hit the road either right now or sometime soon.

"Hmm, wasn't really father dearest's type of thing," he said quietly when Roy explained that it had just opened so he probably wouldn't have known about it either way. After thathe finished his breakfast and when told to go and get his shoes the child nodded his head and went to do that, returning a short time later with his shoes on and his disheveled chestnut hair a little less unruly though it was pretty much always sort of disheveled, that was just the way that it was.

Roy rose a brow at Crevan's choice of words but said nothing about it. He told the kid to go and get his shoes, and while he was doing that, Roy went over to the kitchen fridge and took out some luncheon meat and bread and butter, making a packed lunch for the both of them since he knew that while the admission to the bird Gardens were free, the food was ridiculously expensive. After making the lunches, he smiled and turned to Crevan.

"Okay pal, you ready to go?" he asked, slinging the lunch bag over his shoulder.
