Alex nodded at his orders, the girl already knowing this stuff but not being disrespectful enough to say anything. She grinned at his comment about the 'vultures', not having heard that term before but she could guess what it meant and it amused her. "Should I go pack my things now? ANd meet you at the banquet tonight?" She asked, not sure if he wanted her to do something else but she did need to pack even though she did not have much just some spare outfits and a few keepsakes that she'd collected over the years and were small enough to fit in a saddlebag

"Yes and you will be sitting for this one so enjoy it." He said

"Yes Sir" She said with a smile, the teen exited about this new chapter in her life and she bowed to her knew master before running off to where the pages were all housed together. She packed her things and then wrote a letter to her father letting him know what had happened and where she was going to be, though she knew it would likely be a few months before she heard back from him unless she sent the letter through magical mail it took a while for horses to get places. Once done with that she bathed and dressed in her fancier clothing that was appropriate for a banquet then ran off to find her master, waiting for him outside the manor where the banquet was being held.

Sir Icaret was standing outside the feasting hall wearing his own armor and a bear fur cloak in place of the brown wool one he had worn earlier in the day. He nodded to his new squire and they went to be seated so pages could serve them.

She spotted him fairly quickly, the mans armor and cloak making him stand out a bit amongst the other knights, and she approached him and bowed again just because that was the respectful way to greet the man. after that she walked at his side into the banquet hall and took a seat beside him, feeling a little awkward about being served by the pages since she knew all of them and had been one of them until today but she did her best not to let that awkwardness show. "My lord, I forgot to tell you before but I am a squire-mage not just a squire" She said, thinking that was probably something important he should know since she'd been trained to use battle magics too and he would need to be a magic user himself or have access to one to further that training. She assumed he already knew but she wanted to tell him anyway just to be on the safe side.

"I know but I was waiting to see if you would tell me before we left." He said "While I am not actually a mage I have some talent particularly when I have my sword." He said "Th'Hathrayne the sword of silence, second to last of the Vakarian blades."

Alex looked confused by what he sad about the sword, the girl unaware that a non-mage could use anything magical and that was what it sounded like he was talking about. "What do you mean? What does it do?" She asked, clearly interested but she was also asking for professional reasons because she felt it was something that she should probably know just in case.

[you're not making him a mage? What if she has a temper tantrum sometime and uses magic against him?]

"The vakarian swords have two special properties, they can kill anything living, dead or between, they also amplify the abilities of those who command them." Icaret explained "For someone like me with a small ability to do a few spells the sword makes them as strong as most master mages." He told her, besides the basic cantrips that all gifted learn as children like making fire, Icarets only real talent was with ice magic.

She couldnt help thinking that this sword he was talking about was really cool, the teen wondering what sorts of things she could do with it since she was far from a weak magic user and if she had that thing or something like it amplifying her abilities that could make her even stronger. She was good at attack magics and scouting magics along with the basic spells all magical children learned and she'd been training at it for seven years already so she was pretty good at it. "Can I try it sometime?" She asked, her voice slightly tentative since she knew some people could be possessive with their weapons and she didn't want to upset him.

"No the sword can't be shared, it has one master at a time and it can't be passed on it must be taken." He said "There is one other like it in existence that I know of, the others were all destroyed over the centuries since their forging, Th'Renget the sword of champions is struck in a foot of meteor iron in the bowels of the royal palace because the magics on it mean any man who touches it will die instantly."
