Subterfuge {for Monk}

Alex sighed when he told her she needed to work on it, getting sort of frustrated with what she saw as constant berating from Icaret, "You say that like I should know how to do that! This isn't easy you know, back off!" She snapped, frustrated at the criticism as she saw it and getting a bit of an attitude with him because of it. She was trying, and she would continue to try, but she was thinking that he was expecting results too quickly and that annoyed her.

Icaret raised his eyebrow and gave her a minute for her outburst to sink in so she would realize what she had done then he beckoned to her.

Alex of course noticed his raised eyebrows and the fact that he waited a minute for her to think about this made her flush a bit and lower her eyes since she was ashamed of herself for losing her cool like that, especially with him since she knew it was his job to train her and this was part of it. It was just hard for her and she was only thirteen so she didn't have the best control of her emotions. When he beckoned to her she hesitated for a few seconds but she knew she didn't really have a choice so after that brief hesitation she stood and walked over to him, a bit nervous actually but she was trying not to let that show.

"I understand that you find it frustrating not to be fully in control of your power but I will not allow any more such outbursts." Icaret said "If you raise your voice to me again I will send you back to that tree for another switch, do you understand me?"

Alex looked up at him as he scolded her and nodded when he said that he wasn't allowing more outbursts, a little hopeful that meant that he wasn't going to punish her for this one. When he went on to threaten her she flushed and nodded again, "Yes sir, I understand. I'm sorry" She said, embarrassed by the situation and looking up at him again to see if he was going to leave it at that or if she was in trouble.

"Good." He said "Now your problem clearly requires more in depth technique than I was taught, what I taught you worked for me." He said "We will have to seek out the expert."

Alex relaxed as he started talking about her training again, relieved that she didn't seem to be in trouble. When he mentioned an expert she frowned and shifted her feet a bit, not wanting to be troublesome and require special teachers to be brought in since she knew they could be expensive sometimes. "Maybe I just need practice with your technique milord, maybe I didn't put all my magic in it or something" She said, trying to save him the trouble of finding an expert, though she was curious who this expert was since the way he phrased it made it obvious that he had someone specific in mind.

"That is certainly a possibility worth trying." He admitted "But there is no reason not to send a raven to bring Dragon Fells resident war mage here for a while, its not as though we are at war with any one."

Alex nodded when he told he they could try it but when he added the big about calling the resident war mage her curiosity was piqued so she shrugged a bit, "If you think thats best milord." She said simply, since she knew it was ultimately his decision anyway so she was going to leave it up to him and not protest or argue further.

"Indeed I do besides he usually winters here at the castle anyway." Icaret replied "Not much need for his services in the depths of winter."
