She asked after he explained everything to her, since she could see how the lordship over Arnley's wealth would help as their liege lord he could claim taxes and other such things but she didnt' understand how the couple becoming a great house would be a good thing.

"Why are you trying to gather so many Great houses?" She asked, thinking he might have too much of an interest in making them in his debt or befriending them. Perhaps he had ambitions for the crown? She wouldnt' be too happy if that was his goal though since she was loyal to the king first and foremost, like she had been raised to be.

He said "I have no ambition to take the crown myself, even if we do need to depose the king I would prefer Tolan regained the crown rather than myself."

Alex was reassured when he flat out told her that he had no ambitions for the crown, though the whole deposing thing made her uncomfortable, but there was one part in there that got her attention and she looked somewhat guilty about. "Are you going to be in trouble with his Majesty when I reveal myself?" She asked, feeling bad that he might be in trouble when he hadn't done anything wrong, he just had decided to keep her after discovering her secret he had not been part of the initial plan.

Alex winced slightly when he pointed out that without him she and her father were pretty much doomed to be martyrs, since that really just didn't sit well with her and was one of her worst nightmares actually. "What will he do to you?" She asked, worried that he would get punished for his part in this and she really didn't like the idea of others suffering for her.
