"And you're willing to face his wrath for a girl you barely know?" She asked then, really not getting why this was so important to him and why he would be willing to risk so much for a cause she saw no reason for him to care about.

"You are my squire, I gave my oath to see you a knight or dead in the attempt." Icaret said "I am honor bound to see it through to the end, nothing he does would be worse than forsaking my honor."

"You could be released from your oath if you exposed me, but you are choosing to help me instead? I am grateful milord but I do not understand why you would take such a risk" She asked, wondering what he'd say but if he blew her off again then she was going to drop it and reutrn to her studies so she didnt' anger or irritate him.

"You chose to continue therefore my oath stands." Icaret said "Besides I believe in what you are doing, my sister wanted to be a knight you know like her brothers but my father said no because it would have to a secret."

Alex frowned when he told her about his sister, though she could understand why their father forbade it and hers probably would have too if she had not been his only child and they lived far away from court so they couldn't be discovered easily. "Perhaps in the future other girls will be allowed the same chance as the boys" She said, meaning nobility only of course since she knew it would be foolish for her to try and say commoners should be made knights. After that she turned her attention back to the book and read for a little over an hour before stopping, "I'm finished" She told him, hoping that meant they were done for the day since she was tired.

"That is the idea, they deserve it just as much as the boys." He said "Most won't make it but some will." He pointed out "Given the chance those will the talent to be great knights will succeed but most of the others will drop out, probably half the boys I trained with should have done the same but didn't because they had nothing to fall back on."

Alex smiled a bit when he said the girls deserved the chance, nodding when eh got to the bit about them dropping out if they coudln't cut it since she knew that was likely going to happen to a bunch of them when they realized how hard it was. "There were a few in my group that were sent home" She volunteered when he said that some in his should have quit and didn't, though she'd felt bad for them at the time she realized now that not everyone was able to do this and it was better they get sent home when they're young enough to still learn something else instead.

"There always is but not as many as there should be." Icaret said "Well we can discuss that more tomorrow, off you go."

Alex was a bit surprised when he suddenly gave her leave to go, since it was a bit out of the blue. "I'm done for today?" She asked, closing the book and standing up as she waited to see if he had any further expectations for her today aside from her lessons or if she had free time now.

"Yes." He said "take the book with you and study it when you have time." her master said "I have work still to do."
