Alex took the chalk he handed her with a smile and nodded, finding a clear area on his floor she carefully drew a circle and made sure there were no gaps in it, taking a bit longer than was probably necessary to do so but she wanted to make sure she did it right. Then she paused and looked over at him, waiting for his next instruction.

Alex nodded and focused on her magic, feeling it well up in her but she forced herself to only let a trickle of it out to do the spell even though that sort of control was hard for her still. "Denakt" She said, inflecting it the way he had and then waited to see what would happen.

Alex looked at the air around her as it shimmered but then it faded and so did the glow and she looked over at Renrik. "Does it stay on until I cancel it or something? What happens if I shoot off a spell right now will it recoil on me?" She asked, wanting to know these things just in case she were to use the spell and her magic stopped her from attacking.

"You would have to make a strong one for it to hold up against battle spells, those would be visible all the time and stay up until cancelled or broken." Renrik said

"What about the types of spells that my magic shoots at people when I"m sleeping? Its usually bursts of pure energy" She asked, not really caring about battle spells she just wanted to know about the ones that she was going to be firing at people when she sleeps.

"Those are battle spells." Renrik said "So you need as stromg a shield as you can make."

Alex sighed when he answered her, not really happy to hear that but she knew that he was the one that would know this sort of thing so she wasn't going to question him. "How do I make one of those strong shields then?" She asked, hoping it wouldn't be that difficult but she had the sinking feeling that it was.

"Exactly the same but put as much of your power into it as you can." Renrik said "Also if you use much of your power in the shield you will less to lash out with accidently later."
