Alex grinned, "Yeah I know, I was joking" She said back then asked if he would teach her the swords and she nodded when he said he would, going to retrieve a pair of short swords and returning to him, testing their weight to get used to them and thinking it woudl be more fun to spar with him when she had two swords to block his swords with.

"There are two styles of dual welding, the easier twin welding and actual dual welding." Sam said "Twin welding is where you use them both the same." He explained "Most people use that because its easier to learn despite not being as effective."

"Whats dual wielding then?" She asked, still hefting the two swords and getting a feel for their weight but she was paying attention to him and was looking forward to trying to spar a second time even though she fully expected to loose she knew she could pick up useful tips and have fun when practicing with Sam so she didn't care about loosing.

Alex nodded and raised her swords, "Gonna give me a few pointers or should I try to pick it up as we go?" She asked, actually pretty decent at doing that and copying what was being done by the toher fighter.

"Don't put your swords both out in front, make the opponent reach to engage both if you possibly can." Sam said "the best thing is if you lock your opponents sword away from the body with one so you can strike with the other."

Alex was paying close attention to his instruction and she thought it sounded like a big advantage considering how small she was she couldn't beat them on brute strength. "Alright, lets do this" She said, holding both swords at the ready and slowly swinging them towards him to test out the theory, moving slow since this was practice but she would speed up to full speed if he wanted to spar after she got the hang of it.

Sam blocked her strike and knocked the blade away then slowly so she could see blocked the return swing so she was now open "Even if you have two swords you might not get the seconnd in position to black the follow up strike."

Alex watched what he was doing carefully, noticing how he manuvered her so that she was still open to attack and she frowned, "How do you protect yourself then? Seems like the two swords approach has more weaknesses than benefits?" She asked, genuinely wanting to know she wasn't trying to badmouth his chosen way of fighting.

"If you have only one sword then you don't even get a second chance to block." Sam said "Unless you use a dagger which is much shorter so you will probably fail."
