Maeve met every new blow with the sharp yelp. The switch was worse than the drumstick and the hairbrush. She had a feeling that she is skinned alive. She could not resist herself sand kicked her legs and squirmed trying to ease pain. "You are punishing me because of the report card!" She cried.

Maeve winced with every new blow and yelped. Her "OUCH!" and "OW!!!" became louder every time "I will, I will," she promised between the blows of the switch and her yelps. "That's enough now, stop!"
