I'm still a fan of 3rd edition D&D. And the Star War: SAGA edition.

I've played every edition since 2nd + the old red box basic d&d stuff. I vastly prefer 4th edition on account of it having much better combat overall. I've played old and new world of darkness, mostly vampire stuff, I've played a lot of warhammer fantasy rpg 2ed as well as the dark heresy game for 40k. I've played a bit of shadowrun, a bunch of call of ctulhu and some paranoia. Apart from this are stuff like dawn of worlds and some rpg boardgames that I don't really count as true rpgs.
Why do you ask? Do you want to start a game on aotk? If you do, please take a look at the animeotk spanking supplement for d&d 3rd edition. It's pretty fun stuff.

Lol, yeah I did see that. Though I was hoping to try and get a game of Ironclaw going, and if it were here on AOTK, probably would just be a general game, not one focused on spanking hehe.

Been a tabletop RPG fan for nearly 30 years now. My current favorite game is Dark Heresy from FFG, though I do play all the 40K-related games (Rogue Trader, Black Crusade, Death Watch, etc) and am also playing a Cybergeneration campaign, too.

I'm relatively new to RPG's. I knew about stuff like D&D but I always thought it was just way too complicated for me to ever get into. Then while watching some of Spoony's Vlogs he talked about the new red box for D&D Essentials and when I spotted it at Wal-Mart I thought it'd be interesting. I was instantly hooked and threw myself into the hobby.
Along with the D&D Essentials line (Both Player Handbooks, the MM and the DM guide) Iron Liz's RPG reviews motivated me to get the Core rulebooks for New World of Darkness and Jadeclaw, the latter of which is my personal favorite game so far. Sadly I've never had a chance to play in any games yet.

Hehe, yeah I have Jadeclaw as well as first and second edition Ironclaw. Not sure if you heard or not, but apparently Sanguine Games just got done with a kickstarter campaign to help finance a new version of Jadeclaw they'll be putting out some time next year. It's just called The Book of Jade right now and I'm not sure how big the chances to the mechanics will be, if there will be any big ones at all. I am really hoping they keep the Flaws system that they had in first edition Jade and Ironclaw, because I really thought that added a great element of roleplaying and I do miss it in squaring the circle.
I should also note that Sanguine has a great track record of making games that are very deep and compelling, but at the same time are very newbie-friendly and don't take a whole lot of rereading to understand. Perhaps this just points out my own poor mathmatics skills, but when I first read through third edition D&D, I had to reread the handbooks like 3 or 4 times before I finally started to understand some of the finer points of the game. With Ironclaw, one readthrough and I pretty much understood all the main rules perfectly.
Also, as a final note to this post, if anyone's looking to support some relatively new games, I'd recommend looking into SHARD. It is pretty new (and I don't have the funds to snag it at the moment) but it looks like it will be a very interesting game. The setting, in terms of its uniqueness, reminds me of the little known gem World Tree.

I've always wanted to get into it but my friends were never... The biggest Tabletoppers.

I've seen some ads for Book of Jade's Kickstarter over on FA. Honestly the only part of Jadeclaw's system I had trouble with is the spell-casting. I'm still trying to learn all the rules but for some reason the magic just goes over my head. It seems awesome, especially the section of illegal spells in the back. I don't know if Ironclaw's was any different or if they organized the spell-lists a little better.

First edition ironclaw had the same problem, though it kind of made sense since spellcasters and the like were more like scholars, rather than warriors. They fixed the magic issue in the second edition though, by making the magic more akin to gifts that you could take rather than keeping them separate from the other gifts.
