The Temple of the Closed Fist

One of the older instructors caught the kids watching. He seemed rather angry and cursed at them, grabbing Nahulla rather uncomfortably by the shoulder and raising her up from the kneeling position she and the boys had taken to remain hidden beneath some pushes. "Stupid children, have you not been told to remain in your dorm?!", he said harshly in English with a rather thick accent. "Well, technically...", Grenn stated awkwardly only to be hit on the back of his head by his twin lightly, shutting him up. As they were marched back they were seen by some of the older kids that were still about, earning them sympathetic glances. Perhaps they thought there bottoms were already due for a whipping which was common practice, but they still did get off easy, only being told that they would have extra chores tomorrow. As they entered the room the girl which had been staring at Nahulla had somewhat of a smug expression and was the only one standing, the rest were crouching down on their beds and seemed more afraid.

Nahulla grunted feeling herself grabbed at the shoulder and forced up to her feet. Fear immediately took over her mind as she looks and indeed as she feared it was an instructor who caught them. While thankfully not Lady Iron Fan who had caught them, being caught regardless was enough to give them a jump. Nahulla remained silent since she knew they were in trouble and speaking out of turn may actually cause them to be in even more trouble. The walk back felt somewhat similar to a walk of shame and it didn't help that the older students that gave them sympathetic looks as if the trouble they were in was massive. Thankfully they let off only with extra chores but still was a bummer as the three of them entered the room with the rest of the rookie students. As Nahulla entered she notices the girl that previously glared at her had a smug look, Nahulla assumed that the girl either was glad that Nahulla and the boys got in trouble for sneaking out, or she actually told an instructor what they did. Nonetheless now Nahulla had a problem with the girl and was definitely looking forward to beating her in any challenge that pits the two of them against each other.

After that things got quiet. For dinner they were given some plain rice which the kids ate silently, not speaking much as there still was this opressive atmosphere. Most were asleep early which was good as they were woken up just as early next morning. Lady Iron Fan greeted them again, which none of them seemed to like much, as her reputation as a strict teacher had already spread among the children. "Good day to you, children. I think we will begin the day with some light excercise. Three rounds around the temple! Then breakfast.", she announced and hurried the children out of the dorm. As the girl who had exposed Nahulla and the boys little adventure came close to the strict teacher, she got a smack on her butt which made her rather moody, as could be seen from the expression on her face. It was almost funny, if she didn´t mean trouble for the girl and her new friends. They left the temple grounds and it was a rather long way around it. But the pace was reasonable, so most kids managed fine.

After a quiet dinner and night, the children had all fallen asleep and the next day before the sun had even fully risen into the sky the children were all awakened by Lady Iron Fan. Everyone was quick to become wide awake whether they liked it or not. After greeting Lady Iron Fan a good morning in unison, the children all heard the order she had given and quickly filed out of the room in a single line. Just her luck Nahulla found herself in front of the same girl that tattled on her and the twins which got them extra chores tonight. While not looking back Nahulla assumed the girl probably had a smirk on her face. Although a sound of flesh coming in contact with flesh was heard behind Nahulla and as much as she wanted to look back to see if what she was was what she was thinking she decided not to and instead focuses on their current task. The number of laps might have been small but considering how large the temple grounds were it was going to be quite the task, especially for something so early in the morning.

Lady Iron fan lead the children on their way around the temple grounds, easily keeping the pace, by being older and better trained than them by far. The terrain was also quite difficult, often times muddy or steep, quite a few times the path was so narrow that it was impossible to overtake anyone. Still Nahullas rival tried a few times, determined to avenge her earlier humiliation, not being sure if the other girl had seen her getting her butt smacked or not. At last she managed, grinning smugly as she thought she would outshine Nahulla, alltough Lady Iron Fan did not notice, only a few of the children, like the twins. Would one of the girls gain a reputation for their skill and endurance like that? One had to see. Anyway, they hadn´t much ground to cover anymore luckily.

Nahullla was so focused on what was in front of her that she was not aware of what the girl was trying to do until it happened. Suddenly Nahulla's view of the person in front of her was blocked by the girl who seems to have some kind of issue with her as she seems to have suddenly cut her off. This made Nahulla briefly lose her step since she was to correct her pace to avoid falling over and/or colliding with the back of her head. Growling Nahulla keep her emotions down and said nothing as she continues to keep pace since she didn't want to cause a scene so early in the morning at a place where maturity is probably expected the most right after skill. Besides an exercise like this was to wear the body and Nahulla would seize her opportunity to get her place in line back. After all, this was only just the beginning and who knows how long they had to go under Lady Iron Fan's watch.
