Jack yawned as he worked on breakfast, his parents having already left for the day leaving him in charge of his younger sister. Assuming she's still sleeping in, he decided he'd make them both breakfast. It was a pleasant day, and but he was anxious for the day to be done and tomorrow to come, since he had gotten his sister some tickets for FantasyLand's opening day. He finishes up the pancakes, bacon and eggs and goes to his sisters room, knocking on the door "Breakfast is ready!"

Character: Zoey Malex, likes to be called, Zoe.


Zoey's nose twitched gently as the smells flowed into her room, yawning largely, she snuggled back down into her bed covers. "Nuh....?" she mumbled at the knock on the door and her brothers voice came through the door, "Don't you know its summer break?!" she called back sounding more groggy then annoyed. Burying her face back into her pillow her maroon eyes came together in closing again, "Go 'way." whining again, she groaned as her stomach growled for the delicious smells but she also did not wish to get up.

Twelve year old problems.

(Not a problem. I figured you were busy or something)

"Fine, if you don't want breakfast. No bacon, no pancakes, no eggs or toast for you then" Jack calls back out to her, shaking his head as he shuts the door again and silently heads back to breakfast, not willing to fight his sister about it but expecting her to come get some in a few moments. He sits down at the table and starts to dig in as he awaits her to come down for breakfast

Her stomach seemed to protest against her summer time laziness as her evil brother listed out each yummy item, "Ugh." she stubbornly laid there a moment more before kicking off her covers and sliding out of bed, "Evil, evil big brother." she mumbled as she stumbled and shuffled to the bathroom and then to the table were Jack sat enjoying, she plopped down with a huff, "Why so early anyway?" she grunted and took the maple syrup attacking her breakfast with the bottle, "The best day ever is not until tomorrow."

He laughs softly and grins at her, shaking his head as he digs into his bacon "It's not that early Zoe. It's 9:00."
He chuckles and tears off a piece of his toast before folding it over to make a miniature bacon sandwich that he shoves into his mouth, chewing it down and swallowing before continuing "And cause I want you used to getting up at this time so I don't have to deal with trying to pull your lazy, tired butt from the bed when it's time to get ready tomorrow morning"

Zoey rolled her eyes at her big brother but could not help but feel happy, at least even if they annoyed each other quite a bit, her big brother was here when mom and her step dad went away so often. *I hate being alone.* she thought taking in some bites of her breakfast, "Yeah, yeah okay, so how are you gonna entertain me today?" she asked with a smirk, "Or I might find my own trouble to get into..." the sad part was before their parents got together Zoe did get into trouble quite a bit being left on her own.

"I didn't really have many plans for the day if I'm honest. I need to get some work done on my summer homework, but beyond that I'm free to do whatever you want. If you'd like we can play some Mario party or something for a bit, then maybe head to the mall? Your clothes are getting awful small for you so some shopping to get ready for back to school probably wouldn't hurt. We'll grab dinner while we're out then maybe a movie when we get home?" He suggests, scratching his chin as he thinks of what they could do for the day.

"Bleck summer homework!" Zoey exclaimed sticking out her tongue with an exaggerated face. As she ate and chewed her breakfast her eyes lit up at all the suggestions. "Yeah, yeah let's do that, all of that!" grinning, she was much more awake and enthused. She took in a few more bites swishing her legs under the table with a few hums of an anime song, "Hey..... Jack?" she suddenly asked placing down her cup from taking a drink, "Was your dad always busy even before her met mom and they got married?" she looked up at her step brother curiously.

"Hmm?" He takes a few moments to think, trying to phrase his answer the right way before he nods and says "Yeah, he was always pretty busy. It wasn't so bad when I was younger. Up until I was about 8 he wasn't that busy actually. I mean, he was still busy but not like this busy. But when I turned 9 and he met your mom and they started dating? He started getting a lot busier, especially as they planned their business together. I really resented it at first, but now? It just means I get to spend more time with my awesome baby sister and don't have to worry about them harping on me. Taught me a lot about being independent and self assured"

Zoey listened intently to what Jackson said definitely looking surprised at his conclusion. "I remembered meeting you for the first time when I was like four or five, you and dad." she thought for a moment, "Mom was always busy, her and dad took it slow and dated for some years, then they got married when I was seven and you were thirteen." Zoey re-accounted with a small smile it was a lovely wedding after all, "Remember that nanny lady they hired until you were fifteen?" Zoe laughed, "she was something else huh, really cooky."

She finished up her breakfast and as she did her face became more serious, "I guess, I'm at the stage you were at, it sucks they are both so busy and I never got to really know dad well and I never knew my mom well."

She looked thoughtful before smiling at Jack shyly. "I am glad to have you though... only you nag about like a nosy grown up, you should stop that." she smirked playfully at him.
