Default What themes do you use/like in stories?

I'm curious what sort of themes other game creators have in mind when making the games? Like, when you're thinking of a story to tell, what sort of conclusion does your story point to?

One theme I have noticed with some games is the idea of discipline (in the form of spanking) being a reassurance of some kind that someone is taking care of them. I got this vibe from the domestic spanking scenes from Life Lessons DX, which I highly recommend by the way. Banjo is doing great work with it.

Personally, one theme I play with a lot is "abuse of power". The more uneven the power dynamic between spanker and spankee, the more the spanker is going to abuse that power. All of their actions will be entirely self-serving, and such roles will likely be filled by cruel and sadistic people.

In the "Spankophile" games, I used a variety of different environments to experiment with different themes. The prison and Hell environments were the ones I got a lot of good feedback on. Since these most heavily use the abuse of power theme, I decided to make an entire game out of that theme, which was Vampire Reformatory, where the power dynamic is completely skewed and every authority figure is a sadist monster.

Unfortunately, I may have made that one a bit too dark. There is a fine line between edgy and shocking. I'm still glad I made it though because it was thought-provoking for me when I was making it. Future games will either have a different theme, or strike more of a balance in the way the "Spankophile" series did.

For those who aren't game creators, what types of themes would you like to see better represented in these stories?

I actually never thought about that until now.


In the world of games almost everything is possible and i have never chosen the games i play in order of their theme. Its more i try it out and i like it or not. But its more about how its done for me.



I like games where it's completely about where your choices leads you like "Spanquest", "Welcome to Putsdale" or "Spankfantasy 2" but i also like games where you have been setted in a role for the most time like its done in "The Passage", "FinalSpankasy" or "Spankfantasy"


There are also games with a good portion of both like "Silkfang Respite"



What i am looking for is actually more things like a good story, characterdepth ect.



Currently iam writing my own text based game and it will be kind of it is about what the players want to do. I cant tell much about it, since iam not even close to finish the intro already and i dont want to give too much details for now but the MC would be in the possition to abuse their power but dont have to.


So at the end, i think most of the people think about that the same way as i do but well i cant say that for sure.


After all i like the "Spankophile" games and i also like what i have seen from Vampire Reformatory too even if i did not finished it atm.

My absolute favourite Theme is First time spankings, generally done by Parents/guardians on teenagers/older kids... Which makes it a somewhat hard theme to base a game around, I'd think! But beyond that I also enjoy 'fair' punishments or undeserved punishments that are later 'made good'.

Personally I like when the spankings are more consensual. I do love it when the spanker is a complete sadist and the spankee has agreed to submit to that sadism of their own free will. The Passage has a lot of that, so does Spanquest as well. I still love your games and honestly wanted more options to get punished by the spankers in those games, Vampire Reformatory I know was controversial due to it's being based on historical abuse but man let me sign up willingly for a weekend in the dungeon and I'd be there every weekend. So to sum up yes Sadistic hardcore content is great so long as there is consent from all parties before hand.

I'm trying to make all spankings deserved. There should always be a reason for punishment or it's not so different from rape in my opinion. I don't really like "power abuse" games because of that. Exception is funishment, of course.

About story and gameplay - in my opinion game should be made the way when if you remove all spanking scenes from the game - it still will be complete and interesting. I guess my game was not the best example, so I'm trying really hard to fix this issue in second chapter. Best examples which I can think of - silkfang and peach springs.

I've always wanted a trainer type game where you play the role of disciplinarian commissioned to correct the behavior of petty criminals that were sent to you instead of receiving a prison sentence. It would be sort of like Masters of Rana mechanically, if you replaced the slave/bdsm theme with domestic discipline.

My favorite theme for spanking is the "overcoming the odds" type of thing. The spanker would be spanking someone entirely outside their power dynamic. Like a rebel spanking a queen, or a student spanking a teacher/principal. It's absolutely perfect when someone who really deserves the spanking, who normally wouldn't receive one for some reason, gets spanked despite that.

Though on the flip side, I love stories about one person going around finding ways to spank as many people as possible by trying to get them in trouble, finding some sort of blackmail on them, or finding some way to acquire authority.

I also find it the most fun when the person getting the spanking absolutely hates it and wants nothing more than to be rid of the situation. The more the person getting spanked struggles or fights helplessly against it the better.

Though, my greatest turn off to me is when, as a player, I get forced into a situation that I feel like was out of my control and couldn't be avoided. Something that pulls me away from the narrative connection I would have with the player avatar. Though I'm not saying everything needs to be avoidable, but I want to feel like it would be what my character would do. Like, if my character is facing a super strong enemy, and I feel like my character would fight against the odds, but instead they just surrender without issue. Even if both options result in the same outcome, being given the choice to fight back would keep my narrative connection instead of losing it.

Usually slice of life kind of settings or a very basic setting that is realistically feasible even if the spankings are a bit more than what you'd see in reality. A protagonist trying to play hookie, get to a concert, get to work... Even if the spankings themselves are a bit more common place and sometimes more extreme than would be normally socially acceptable, I usually start with something relatable.

My most common spankers are parents and teachers, but others may be included. Usually they at the very least think they're doing the right thing by giving a spanking, but some of my spanker characters are abusive assholes or kinksters, too.

I like to have a good breadth of everything, but my personal favorite will always be big, strong mommy type character who is a little sad and disappointed but still resolute that their ward needs proper discipline and is going to dole it out until they think a lesson has been learned. On the flipside of that is the bratty, unrepentant character who over the course of the punishment is brought to heel.

Stories and games I have liked are the consensual yet reluctant type.

In one story, a sorority girl is put in a pillary that is blocked off to public view, but her face is exposed to the crowd before her. The reason she is put in the pillary is for a fund raiser, similar to dunking booths. she is heavily padded, and gets spankings from the house mother, so a "fun" spanking isnt that bad in her opinion, until her parents neighbor pays to spank her, and lifts up her bloomers and skirt, meaning she is getting it bare. Cumulative spankings then start adding up, yet she's too embarrassed to call a halt and have anybody else see her naked rear end.
What's a girl to do???

A similar theme for spankings in stories/games is mechnical discipline.
a group of girls in the future go into a museum that has an old fashioned school exhibit in it, and you can experience what it's like to be a student way back in the 20th century. Android teacher and other watching android students. Well, the museum posted an out of order sign, but the three future girls petulantly decide to try it out anyway, only to find out the android teacher dishes out sound spankings!

Another concept I like is desired/longing, yet fearful spankings.
One story is about a bored princess who watches a town ritual of pretty young and middle aged women who get pillaried and spanked bare bottomed in front of a crowd. She despises the ritual, yet dreams of someone who would treat her the same, and jills off imagining herself in the pillaried women's place as she watches from her balcony overlooking the plaza. but who would do something like that to a princess?
Well, suddenly there is a coup to embarrass and dethrone her, and she gets her fondest wish thrust on her.

The last game/story senario I like is the endured spanking.
This is not necessarily a spanking that is desired, but understood to be endured to gain a desired end goal. One game I enjoyed playing was one where a demongirl has to run relays avoiding obsticals. One of the obsticals is a spanking demon. like I am going to try to avoid such an obstacal??? lol

Most of these stories/games could also be categorized as first time. As such there is nothing to base a real spanking opposed to a fantasized one, so the spankee (female in my stories) gets more than they dreamed, but end up happy more or less in the end.
