"Well..." Marilyn thought for a moment, her voice a little quiet in case someone came down the hall, whether a servant or their guardian. Then she peeked her head towards the door, then back to Sadie, grinning. "Well, I heard Lois talking about one of the new crazes over in Europe; remember she has that cousin who's German?... Promise not to tell, though?"

Sadie nodded as she wrapped the blankets around her even tighter so only her face was peeking out. "Of course I won't tell!" 'Promise not to tell' always meant that it was something wonderfully scandalous.

Marilyn peeked at the door again, then decided the coast was clear. "Well... in Europe, it's very fashionable for women to dress up like flappers, like we do here, but... but women also go on the town with each other, like men and women are supposed to... They think it's high fashion to do that!" And it was slowly becoming popular in certain parts of America, especially in bigger cities... for fashion's sake, of course.

Sadie's face grew red. "Really...? That actually sounds kind of fun..." She thought on what Marilyn had said. She had never really told anyone, but Sadie, in the back of her mind, always knew that she liked women as well as men. But, since no one that she ever knew liked the same sex, she thought it was best to not bring it up, and just stick with flirting with boys. "Would you ever do anything like that, Marilyn?"
