Troublesome Elvlings

They reached the storeroom swiftly and Legolas was thrilled to see it unguarded.
He turned a smile to the twins as he tugged open the door.
"We should hurry," he said.

Elrond laughed again.
"After stealing a bottle if dorwinian wine," he added.

"Aye." They quickly stole the fireworks and retreated to the twins' room to complete their work.
"This will be magnificent!" Elladan grinned.
"Aye! And Ada said we could not attend because we would cause trouble."

"Then drinking ourselves silly and nearly falling off said roof." Thranduil chuckled. "And being saved by my Nana."

Legolas smiled.
"Perhaps this will prove to them that we are not foolish little elflings," he said.

Elrond laughed.
"And being blistered by our ada's the next day," he said.

"After all, elflings would not be able to pull such a prank!" Elladan added.
"We are almost grown now!" Elrohir agreed.

"That was a bad one, if I recall correctly." Thranduil said, wincing at the memory. "I wished to sit in ice afterwards."

Legolas nodded, empathically.
"True elflings wouldn't be clever enough to braid a wick such as this!" He declared as they set to work.

Elrond nodded.
"At the least. That was one of the times my ads used his swordstrap on my brother and I." He said.

The trio quickly finished their plans, sitting in the cellar. "Where shall we set them off?" Elladan asked.
"Near the tables!" Elrohir interjected. "There, it will easier to see!"

"My Ada favored his belt as well. I had a terrible hangover from the wine, and a sore bottom from my Ada. Even Nana would not help me." He laughed. "Such a long time ago."

"Near the tables, but angled to the windows. We don't want to hurt someone," Legolas said, standing up, and gathering the wick, carefully.
"Come, we must hurry, before luncheon. Our ada's will be coming for us soon, and we are supposed to be in the gardens."


Elrond smiled, and crossed his long fingers together.
"Oh, so long ago. I do not look forward to the times when our own elfings discover wine, but they seem to enjoy the juices thus far."
He turned to the window, and sighed.
"It is nearly time for luncheon."

The twins nodded, helping their partner in crime to carry the supplies into the room. "We must hurry!" Elladan said, nudging the other two. The fireworks were set and the elflings retreated to the safety of the gardens.
"And now we wait." Elrohir said.

"Nor do I...Legolas is hard enough to handle sober." Thranduil laughed. "Yes, the time is fast approaching. We should collect our sons before they think to cause trouble."

Legolas found a ball filled with seeds, and kicked it towards the twins. It was a bit large, but perfect for three little elflings to play with.


Elrond smiled, and stood.
"I hope we are not too late for that,' he said, heading for the doors.

The three passed the ball until the two elvenkings came looking for them.
"ADA!" Elladan and Elrohir hugged Elrond tightly, tossing him bright innocent smiles. Thranduil was embraced by his own elfling, and lifted Legolas to sit on his hip.
"And what have you done today, Legolas? Nothing naughty, I hope."
