A Vulcan's comeuppance - Ruby/Jade

Spock choked on the abrupt inhale of breath he took when he saw the brush and he began to squirm with more vigor. "No!" he yelled, though more of desperation than confidence. "No! Please, please Captain, not the hairbrush again!" he said, turning to look over his shoulder at Jim.

The eyes that met those of his frantic first officer were by no means uncompassionate, infact, considering the state of Spock's rear Jim couldn't really say that he blamed him for he action. But he knew that he couldn't just allow Spock to walk free, not if there was a chance that he still hadn't learned his lesson.

"I'll tell you what Spock," the captain started, bringing the hairbrush up for Spock to get a good look at the offending implement "If you have give me five good examples of how you'll improve this behaviour of your's, then I won't use the hairbrush."

Spock thought hard, but five was many to come up with at this point in time. "I shall be more respectful.....I shall....be sure to secure any decision with you.....I shall value my life more appropriately....I shall think through my options more carefully.....and I shall....act on logic rather than impulse." he said, hoping that would justify.

Jim murmured as he mulled over Spock's answer; it was a good attempt--atleast he could see that the Vulcan was beginning to consider taking these lessons on board rather than just letting them roll off his back. The more worrying aspect was though, he still hadn't learned anything from those first two suggestions, the very same one's that had gotten him in the exact same position the last time "I believe I have already heard two of those answers before, during our last session," despite the note of disappointment lingering in that statement, Jim lowered the hairbrush from Spock's line of vision "But for the most part I agree with the rest. Therefore, I'm only going to give you two smacks with the hairbrush to help you remember, fair?"

Spock whimpered when Jim mentioned hearing two of those answers before and when asked if it was fair to receive two smacks with the hairbrush, Spock made himself nod. "Yes Captain, and then we are finished?" he asked squirming with embarrassment about being bare bottomed over the Captain's knee, his bottom elevated.

Jim paused in consideration for a few moments before answering "Yes Spock," and so he landed the final two smacks firmly against the Vulcan's under-curve "We're finished."

Spock breathed a huge sigh of relief which turned into yells of pain when the brush attacked his under curve twice. It was painful but not unbearable and the Vulcan nodded his head, the tears having not come to his eyes this time and he stood on his feet. "I am sorry, Captain."

"Yes, I know Spock," Jim nodded, dispensing with the hairbrush back on the bedside table. Even though the punishment was over and Spock was obviously forgiven, he had a hard time masking the disappointment still lingering across his features "I just hope I can hold you to your word this time?"

Spock winced at the look of disappointment on his face, that not making him feel great at all. "Captain...you have not forgiven me...have you?" he asked, his tone sounded wounded.

"It's not that Spock," The captain gently assured, standing to cast his friend a soft, endearing grin at how, well...innocent the Vulcan had sounded "I have forgiven you, otherwise there would be no point in your punishment. I'm just concerned for you, is all," he explained with another sigh "Two serious offences in less than an hour. Spock...are you sure you don't know what's wrong? Because I can't truly help solve this problem if you don't tell me,"
