A Vulcan's comeuppance - Ruby/Jade

"But Doctor, flying into a solar flare would be-" Spock was about to answer but the halting finger made the Vulcan pause and he frowned just a little. "I have no need for metaphorical references Doctor, I am Vulcan, we embrace such things but do not use them, it is pointless." he answered and then listened as the man rambled on about some Earth treatments working, and the Vulcan smirked a little. "The key word I believe, is some. I have no doubt that few Earth remedies do have their uses, however perhaps if you took the time to study some Vulcan remedies, many more lives could be saved. For example, the common cold. Even more deadly still, Cancer."

He shook his head, "Pardon me, I do not quite understand what you are insinuating. Are you using Earth vernacular to confuse me?" Spock rolled his shoulders slightly before speaking again, "Can you not just accept that compared to Vulcan remedies, Earth medical practice is inferior? And ironically it is you who deemed me Stubborn..."

"No Spock," The doctor answered, arms folding over in an effort to supress the urge to lash out at his latest set of remarks "I'm not trying to confuse you, I'm outright warning you: if you continue to conduct yourself with such childish arrogance then I'm afraid I shall have to correct it for you." His gaze darkened considerably at the younger being before him "And I wouldn't push me on that, Spock; I guarantee you won't like the outcome."

"If you are attempting to threaten me Doctor, I can confirm that such attempts are rather ...pathetic." Spock answered, walking over to the door to leave the room, not quite sure why they were in there in the first place but obviously Bones needed a good talking to about his inadequate medical practices, and he felt he'd said what the Doctor needed to hear. "Good day Doctor. It is not I who is stubborn, you are acting quite so, however." he pointed, out, that small smirk on his thin lips before he put his hand on the panel to open the door.

Without a moment to spare Bones strode and, after taking a firm grasp of Spock's forearm, pulled the Vulcan sharply away from the panel and back over towards one of the desk chairs laying directly adjacent to where Spock had been standing and flip the younger being over his lap--a lucky coincidence now that he thought about it, for no doubt the Vulcan would have had a quick reaction if not for the element of surprise. From taking advantage of such surprise, the doctor quickly compressed his forearm across Spock's back and without so much as batting an eyelid landed a firm spank across the alien's backside, the force of which left an audible 'thwack' in its' wake.
As the moment settled, Bones continued to gaze down at the Vulcan in stern unimpress "I was not threatening Spock, I was warning," he clarified "Now I suggest you wipe that smirk off your face and start listening to a little reason, or I'll do it again."

Spock couldn't exactly recall what happened next. One moment his hand was about to reach the panel to open the door, the next it was almost touching the floor as he found himself somehow over Bones' knee. What a ......fascinating turn of events. Spock frowned a little but his reaction was not of anger or shock, it was more of slight confusion. "Doctor, I am not familiar with what it is you are doing." he voiced and then jerked but stilled when the strike landed across his bottom. It did hurt, and the Vulcan could feel the sting. "Why did you strike me?" he asked, squirming a little and then making a full attempt to get up from the Doctor's lap.

"You are a fool. Honestly, you are resorting to violence to prove your invalid point the slightest ...correct? How pitiful."

Despite the notorious strength of Vulcan physiology, Doctor McCoy merely braced his arm firmer against the squirming form and denied the request to rise by way of leaning further weight into the younger being's back.

"No Spock I'm not trying to prove my point in the slightest, violence is the furthest thing from my mind." Bones answered in the calmest of detachments to his current 'Patient's' attempt to insult "Infact, I'm not actually sure that really matters anymore; no, this is what's called a 'Spanking', it's a form of punishment for Earthling Children." Another smack, he felt, served as appropriate emphasis to that point"And contrary to your believe, Spock, you're acting just as badly as an Earthling Child," and with that, Bones raised his hand and landed another smack across the Vulcan's backside followed by another and another "You, my boy, are in desperate need of an attitude adjustment,"

Spock was even more confused, the complexity of the situation really did escape him though he would not admit it. It wasn't until Bones explained about 'spanking' and how it was a punishment designed for Earth children. The Vulcan frowned in response. "I am neither from Earth, or a child. Therefore your punishment strategy is falsely administered." he answered, squirming again and grunting at the second smack, he did not expect it to hurt that much. Vulcan's had tough skin, but when it came to their backsides, it was just as vulnerable as a human's.

"I am not." Spock answered, not seeing the response as childlike even if it was. At the sequence of swats, the Vulcan jerked and yipped a little, shaking his head. "Release me, this is not necessary." he demanded, a slight growl in his voice.

Despite the rising ire at Spock's persistent stubbornness, even old Bones couldn't keep from raising a bemused brow at how like a petulant child that last insistence had sounded. If it weren't so oddly appropriate, the medic could honestly say that he'd have laughed; but in this case it only served to prove a point "I think you're missing the big picture here Spock," He commented with another firm smack across the Vulcan's rear "See, you're in this position because you deserve to be--though you may think you cart around a firm stance of authority, your behaviour and attitude today lends me to believe that is not the case. If anything, that's arrogance of the highest degree," another firmer smack upon his posterior for emphasis "And universally speaking, boy, that's a big problem."
Hand positioned above Spock's pinking backside, McCoy paused a moment to attempt to converse with the boy once more "Now, can you tell me what it is that you're being punished for, exactly?" the doctor questioned, seeing nothing wrong with addressing the childish alien as he would any one of his youngest patients

Spock shook his head, "My position as first officer restricts you from taking authority over me. Especially when such things are not needed, this is a waste of my time." the Vulcan explained, the barest spike of venom in his tone. He didn't like being over the man's knee and he hated getting his backside smacked, it wasn't a pleasurable experience to say the least. "Ow!" he put voice to his reaction of pain at that point and then made a second attempt to rise from the lap, putting more strain in his arms.

"I am being punished...so you say...because you are angry that I am correct, and you are not." He answered.

"True, but I happen to be aware that as of five minutes ago both of us were relieved from duty," McCoy explained with another firm "That means that right now you and I are what we are; a spoiled brat across the lap of a man out-ranking you in a little thing called 'Age', Spock. Heard of it?" It was a rhetorical question but nevertheless Bones drove the impact of it further with another firm smack, having to keep even the mildest sense of satisfaction slipping into his thoughts at hearing Spock actually voice a yelp.

It proved to be short-lived at the Vulcan's haughty response "That's not a proper answer Spock," the doctor warned with another firm strike "Drop the lip and answer the question, or you'll really wish I'd have been making idle threats." As he spoke, McCoy moved his hand up to a loop in Spock's trousers, grasping it in silent warning; if the boy pushed then the doctor held no qualms in baring him.
