Spock's eyes widened when his new Father walked onto the bridge and said he would like a word with him. Maybe it was time to use the surroundings to his advantage. "I would rather not, Captain. I am content here. Unless you would discuss the matter here-" he gestured to his surroundings, "-then I care not to discuss it at all." he was pretty sure Jim wouldn't say anything where public ears could hear, so he was confident on that.

While Spock's tactics were more than commendable, there was one unfortunate detail that his son had failed to consider; his subordinate rank, alongside his subordinate behaviour would always provide Jim the necessary authority "Well I'm afraid you don't have the luxury of a choice, Mister Spock. As Captain I order you to follow me for disciplinary action." while it was true that he would never discuss or display Spock's punishment as a public affair--there was nothing to suggest that his bold declaring of 'disciplinary action' for the bridge to hear was any breach of that trust, professional or otherwise.

And of course, the wayward Vulcan had not anticipated Jim pulling rank even as it seemed so logical now. Though he did not want to, Spock got up from the seat and followed Jim out of the room, quite anxious once he found himself alone with the man. "Father, I...assure you, everything Doctor McCoy has told you, is a lie." he tried, voice steady and stoic. "I have behaved well."

"Really?" Jim promptly questioned, boring an unwaveringly critical gaze right at Spock "Now, why would Doctor McCoy feel the need to lie to me about something so mundane as a physical exam?" he continued as if it were as obvious a point as discussing the weather "You're the logical one, son, what could he possibly gain from that?"

"In order to put me in position of punishment Father, even you are aware how frequently Doctor McCoy enjoys me in human situations. Spanking is one of them. It is a plausible enough reason." Spock lied confidently. "I also assume, it is for the reason he seems to gain enjoyment from my...humiliation, should I say." he paused then. "I assure you Father, I was willingly prepared for the medical exam, and agreed to it completely. Upon realizing Doctor McCoy's plot to gain me difficulties, I assumed you would not believe a word I was saying. I can assure you Father I am telling you the truth." he explained and the way he was looking, speaking and acting, he seemed incredibly truthful. Even if that was not the case.

Although Jim thought little of any attempt to slander any of his crew's name, he refrained for the moment from commenting on it. Infact, despite how preposterous he knew such an event to be he continued to entertain Spock's notion with a nod of consideration "That's a pretty serious accusation, son; to accuse Doctor McCoy of such discrimination" he noted as he turned towards the computer monitor sitting peacefully atop the conference desk "But if what you say is true, and you were indeed as truthful as you claim to be, then you won't mind if I play the security tape back to confirm it?" his finger perched atop the button marked 'play'--having already set up the desired file moments before collecting Spock "Afterall you wouldn't have any cause to lie to your father now, would you my boy?"

And just before Spock could feel like he'd removed the hook from his back, James only dug it in deeper with mentioning video camera footage. Spock thought this over quickly and carefully, surely the tape could not produce sound, and if so, perhaps the two of them speaking could not be audible enough to be determined. Plus there was nothing to say the actions between both men proved Spock's lie to actually be one. "No Father, I would not lie to you." he answered, confident as ever, eyes on the screen. Maybe this time, he'd get out of a spanking.

And with that Jim wasted no time in clicking the video into action; he had to give Scotty credit where it was due, when the engineer had boasted about cutting energy loss by up to forty percent he had truly followed through--thanks to his knowledge of how to best utilise energy in-flight, they were able to harness what would have once been wasted energy into giving a clear, concise and more importantly, audible image to enjoy.
The captain continued to observe the play-back with unreadable interest, maintaining such until the moment when McCoy turned heel to fetch him "It's quite something, isn't it?" he finally questioned in a tone not quite gentle enough to be considered casual yet just mild enough to fully impress how thickly disappointment appeared to fog across the room "Not the video; how talented a liar you seem to have become as of late, Spock."

( And he was doing so well XD )
Soon enough, there was audio that could be heard on the playback and Spock literally froze to the spot, his eyes wide as he listened to the words travelling to his numb, pointed ears. He didn't speak, considering his Father hadn't turned around from the video footage yet, Spock used that to his advantage. "F-Forgive me Father." he whispered before actually running from the room. The Vulcan was fast, very fast. He wasn't sure where he was running to but he didn't stop for anything.

(I know, right? XD )
"Spock!" Although the initial panic at seeing his son fly so suddenly from the room had been immeasurable on a scale of shock-to-trauma; Jim forced the instinct down in favour of patching the computer in to every single camera on the ship that would detect Spock's movements. The trail was random but it gave the father a rough idea of where to head; and so without a moment to spare, he gave chase to his fleeing charge.
