Set in a post apoclyptic world a teenager lies about her age (14-16) in order to join a hunting party. The general that she is placed under for training finds out the truth after one of the girl's peers accidently let it slip. The general takes pity on the girl, who is an orphan and allows her to stay as her apprentice though she does not make it easy on the girl, being just as strict and harsh as she would be on a grown woman. However, the woman also has a soft spot for the girl though she tries not to show it.too often.

Set in a fantasy setting a teenage runaway from another kingdom disguises herself as a boy in order to become an apprentice for a knight of the royal court. (She doesn't realize that they would allow a girl to become a soldier as well)

Her mentor finds out and punishes her for lying before making her apologize to the king for lying and disrespect. They both allow the girl to continue to present as she wishes and to train under the generak
