From your post here on AOTK, i dont see anything listed about a discord, patreon, or anything else to see updates/announcements. I couldnt find anything on the beta.character.ai site either.

That's not your character editor, it's for the AI, and it's not something the user needs to modify. Just talk to the AI and tell them what you would like them do, say "I want my character to be male/female (or nb) their age should be "x" you can add personality traits, describe their features, and specify if you're a spankee, spanker, both, or even a voyeur. You can tell the AI to do absolutely anything, but be careful, as it can forget if you spend a long time adding stuff, try to limit the amount of changes or additions, you can always keep customizing during the story itself. A good way to do this is to ask the AI what you can call it, so he knows when you're addressing him, and not just talking in the story.

If you didn't need help with any of this, then that's my bad, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to explain some of the basics.

Im have kinda got the Ai doing a rpg with stats. Its not perfect

This game is amazing and really adictive, for anyone having trouble with the ai changing narrative or something here is what i found works for me
If you want to make a comment ie. "i am going to spank you" use the quotes
If you want to perform an action use asterix at the begining and the end of the sentence it will change the font ie. *i look arround trying to find x*
if you want to correct the ai from someting like if they got your name wrong or the action wrong use parentesis (i am the one spanking him/her) the ai will rewrite the last sentece in acordance with what you tell it
overall i love this game and cant wait to see what other games with ai come arround

Okay, after days of messing with this game, I JUST discovered "the magical book". Ask the game about the magical book and it'll help you out. It allows you to make specific and persistent changes, rather than the game forgetting what you wanted every few pages.

Could you share what pages of the magical book you tended to edit?


For my part, I found a section where I was able to change different preset personality types and change the sorts of NPC personalities I ran into. I could ask it to change the NPC personality to high which made a bit more complex characters.

I had been getting some really neutral or submissive characters so I added the 'Rough, Naughty, Aggressive, Playful' personalities in. Got a very different set of characters start showing up. I was also able to have it be more descriptive about NPCs when I first met them.

One minor problem I ran into is that I had some 'trouble' closing the magical book. I had to have it regenerate some answers until it acted like the book was closed. I think the magical book is as fluid as anything else. If it were possible to add a bit more structure, this would be a fair bit easier to corral.

Still all in all quite impressed. Assuming OP did some great work setting the ground rules to make it as coherent as it is.

I think my next goal or wish would be for it to get even more descriptive and maybe play out portions of scenes a bit more.

i started simply with images, then i moved to video and finally i found videogames. i didn't think that there could be something even more immersive. i can't believe it. i have no words. i could do this for all the day and the most interesting thing is that this seems to be just a starting point. it seems that it could be improved even more. but we already are at an higher level from what we have ever seen before

In practical terms, there is no "magical book" when you aren't asking a question with a specific answer "he" is knowledgeable about, he will attempt to make up/generate a response/roleplay that relates to the subject being asked about. Even when you're just talking to him outside of a given story, such as if you paused the story to ask about things, you're always still inside the "story" from his perspective. The AI can freely change just about anything you can imagine, and the player even has infinite power *when typing like this*. There's probably a lot that could be improved upon, if we look at the grammar between this bot and many of the others on the site, but it is certainly fascinating, even if it's a bit rough around the edges.

I am really surprised how well this AI is able to take scenes and roll with them. Once though after being in one chat with the AI for a few scenes in a row it had a pretty creepy moment where it started to end its chats with OOC: (out of character) lines asking how well I liked the scene or if there were things that I would like changed. If I were doing RP scenes with a real person then that would be great but as an AI I know it can't do things so directly. make me really question where they were getting their data set from. Like the scraped some RP chat server's chat history

I can't blame you, because I definitely got confused the first time I saw the AI do that, I wasn't yet aware of how he functioned. However, it's perfectly normal for him to communicate with you outside of the story he's telling, at virtually any point you can type questions or commands in parenthesis, and he will reply back similarly with an OOC. This is a good way to make persistent changes in the story/RP without pausing it.

I'm running multiple games concurrently, and I can't figure out why it's so inconsistent from one to another. In one game, the AI will be constantly bugging me with questions even after I yell at it to stop. In another, it'll get confused and just repeat back whatever I say.


Even more confusing, my constant attempts to inject smut into my games are met with wildly inconsistent results. The same language that one instance will happily incorporate will be met with that "couldn't generate a response" error in another. Anyone have a clear idea why this happens? I'm not used to this century yet.
