Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:

Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising.
Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts)
Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising.
Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!

Default Writer's Resources

Okay, this thread is a place where writers can place any links they have to sites that help out with writing, character creation, plot developement, and so forth. Don't get me wrong, we have a lot of talent here at the site already, but no matter how good people are, there is still room for improvement, and there are a lot of sites that specialize in helping out with small things that can make all the difference in a story, spanking or non... only one so far that I've found, though:

http://www.fictionfactor.com/
This is an excellent site for people who are just starting out writing and it's chock full of good articles and editorials about pretty much everything concerning writing. It also has a lot of resource links to free E-books both fiction and nonfiction, as well as some trial writer's software for download! Check it out, and a few of the sister-sites it sponsers!

Good, simple naming resource. Helps out when determining Japanese, Russian, German, even Aramaic names and simple meanings. Some features are a bit difficult to adjust(specific meanings for example) but over all it's awesome.

First: the Gender Genie is a great resource if you (like myself) are trying to get your mind around the masculine and feminine voices. Apparently, men and women use certain words with different frequency, and the Gender Genie uses an algorithm to determine if the author of an entered story is most likely male, or female; its scarily accurate! If you have trouble convincingly pulling off a narrator of the opposite sex, this site can be very enlightening.

Second: This isn't an online resource, but "On Writing" by Stephen King is the BEST writing tutorial I have ever gotten my hands on. King may be mainly a fantasy and horror writer, but his advice is just as applicable to any other genre, and it had a huge impact on my writing ability basically overnight. Anyone who wants to learn to write better should read this book. No exceptions.
