"Well," Aimee said, "A significant portion of the Girl Scouts are actually lesbians so, I dunno about the 'good wife' bit. The YMCA is a religious organization, so, uh, yeah, actually, I do think there's some recruitment going on there, despite what... may have been the historical reality. But, for this? There's a ton of money in this," she waved a hand around at the building, "And if it's not you all, or someone like you, then it's gonna be NSA or CIA or some other government abbreviation I've never heard of."

"Not really" Kei muttered towards Trevor's answer, they got everything from fighting the "evil doers", they got to have thir technology, they got to have reknon, they wouldn't want to keep kids out of trouble for free... unless they wanted them to fight the so called "villains".
They would not jelp them in everything, they, as the youngesters, would have to bend to their wants to have the help the heroes offered.
Te kid got quiet then, leting Aimee spek, yes, all this reeked of recruitment and the imposition of wht was the "good" path, she seghed, this was going to be dificult to deal with.

Akane thinks this is a clever trick, if they try to prevent the children with superpowers from becoming a super-villain instead of fighting them when they have grown up. On the other hand she knows, things are not always that easy and what Aimee says sounds also logically. They put a lot of money into this building and as far as Akane knows, the US put much money into fighting crime and building jails and not into preventing crimes. But she is to polite to show openly that she is doubting the words of her host and so she just nods at Aimee's words.

“Well, it is unfortunate that a young girl, such as yourself, is so jaded at life that you fail to believe that there’s any good left in anyone. I suppose that I’d be suspicious of everyone, if I also shared your views. Thankfully, I don’t.”
Trevor starts to stand, feeling that there’s little reason to argue with the children over the center’s desires. Would the managers of the center like to see youths grow up to take on the good fight? Of course, they would. However, it may be only one in ten, or less, that actually chooses to follow that path. The center isn’t just here for the one in ten. It’s here for everyone. Some people simply aren’t going to believe that, unfortunately.
“I trust that you children will enjoy the facilities. I’ll be in my office, should anyone need me. Good day.”
With that, the old man leaves the teens on their own.

Aimee watches the man go, "Well. That was... unexpected." Then she shrugged, "But, if that's that, then I think I'm going to go have some fun with that VR again. See what I can make it do. At least for a bit, and then... well, I dunno, maybe I'll blow this hotdog stand and go to the mall or something, I dunno."

Akane shrugs unison. "You won't get me in this VR chamber again. This room was creepy. I will give this 'Sword Master III' game a test run. If the kids find out they have it here there will be no chance anymore, at least you will have to wait in the line for hours. That alone made it worth coming here. Anyone interested in a little duel?"
She gets herself a coke. Obviously it's not necessary to treat other kids as politely or formally as an adult.

"I...I'll stay here" Kei sighed while getting more water. "I have way too much work to do"

"Work?" Aimee said, rolling her eyes, "Like... homework? Or is your superpower something crazy like... super-corporate executive or something, like Bruce Wayne, or are you like an Iron Man... uh... Iron Girl, type...thing..." Aimee trailed off as her vision filled with an ever-expanding cascade of windows as her thought processes raced through a thousand web and image searches a second, bringing up movie times, comic book forums, images, video clips and a hundred other things related to Batman, Bruce Wayne, Wayne Industries, Wayne's World, Iron-Man, Tony Stark, Tony Soprano, Stark-Merriweather, Stark Innovations, and all of their related concepts, based on the ribbing she'd attempted to give Kei.
If one looked closely enough, one could swear that her bright blue eyes actually seemed to rapidly flicker with a subtle radience, like the activity LED on a computer as her systems spun through a dizzying torrent of information, analyzing, categorizing and filing data away for future reference.

"Just have homework, ok? Some of us still have to do it." She mumbled, displeased by all this, yet having to deal with it. "See you" Grabbing her backpack she went to another table, to be left alone as she began to read through her books and notebooks, she had to deliver this crap soon, so better get started and leave the others deal with themselves.

Aimee finally shook herself out of the wiki-hole she had fallen into, "Uh, what? No, I mean... ha! No, no, I still go to school. Sometimes. Homework just isn't... that hard anymore. There's, like, no such thing as a test that isn't.... open book. Or... open internet. It's... kinda cool, actually. Usually."
