Elana sighed, walking through the hall. She kept staring at her feet. Yet another test she'd studied three weeks for, then ended up getting a C- because she didn't trust her answers. She then felt herself bump into someone and drop her books. "Oh, I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention!" She said, quickly kneeling down and trying to frantically pick her things up.

Bobby almost doesn't take notice of the girl, completely missing her until he's just about walking over the top of her. He immediately bends over, helping to gather up her books for her.

“It's my fault, really. I should have been watching where I was going. Here, let me help you get those.”

Bobby had learned how to treat women from his father, who believed in old school romanticism. As such, Bobby believed that there was a time for a man to be gentle with a lady, and a time to be strong. As such, he tried to behave as a gentleman.

Elana blushed slightly at him helping and quickly grabbed her books from him, though that just made her drop the ones she was holding. "No, it was my fault! J-Just keep going, I'll be fine!" she said hurriedly, trying to avoid eye contact.

“Don't be ridiculous. You're dropping them as fast as you're picking them up. Just hold the ones that you've got and I'll get the rest.”

Bobby Rogers is one of the football players, and in the grade above Elana. He is just slightly more than a year older than her, and certainly large enough to carry most of her books for her without problem. As he bends down to get her remaining books and papers, he picks up a single sheet and briefly scans the grade at the top.

“A C-? Wow, I'd never have expected someone like you to get a grade that low. Did the teacher make a mistake on your paper?”

"T-That's private!" Elana said, ripping it out of his hands and clutching it to her chest, making her drop everything else now. "And... no, it wasn't a mistake." she added softly after a moment, looking down. That made her realize his height advantage over her, so she looked away entirely.

She wasn't good at situations like this. She didn't know what to say, and just wanted to grab her books and run off. After taking back her test though, she hadn't bothered to pick anything else up.

Bobby reaches down and retrieves the remainder of the girl's books, stacking them in his arms. With a friendly smile, he stands and looks back to her.

“Hey, don't worry about it. Everyone flubs a test from time to time. It just reminds you to study better next time, and you'll get the A's that you're accustomed to. Here, I'll carry your books to your locker for you, or your next class if you're going to be late.”

"Uh, m-my locker." Elana answered softly, then after a moment, she tried to take back her things. "I-I can do it myself! Give those back!"

Bobby grins playfully, holding up his arm to keep the books out of the girl's reach.

“As soon as we're at your locker, so you can put them away and not carry so many around. You're just asking to lose something that way. Besides, I'm being such a gentleman, and you haven't even introduced yourself, yet. I should at least have the honor of knowing the name of the girl that I'm so graciously helping out, despite probably making myself late for biology.”

Elana blushed when he pointed out she was the one without manners. "E-Elana." she answered softly, before turning away as she stood up. "Follow me, I'll show you where my locker is."

“Well, a pleasure making your acquaintance, Elana. You can call me Bobby because, well, that's my name. Elana's a very pretty name, by the way.”

Bobby falls into step behind the younger girl, letting her lead the way to her locker as he carries her books. This garners a few stares from other students, particularly those from his grade. He was pretty popular, even though he was still an underclassman, and it certainly turned a few eyes for him to be carrying a girl's books, especially one from an even lower grade.
