Whilst we appreciate you giving us somewhere for almost real time chat, the Mini Chat is just incredibly annoying with constant lag and multiples of one post, understanding that an IRC client may not be the path we can go with on this particular website, me and Mini Chat members got to talking and suggest looking in to alternatives.

ANYONE WITH A SUGGESTION FOR A CHAT PLEASE POST ^_^


Userplane: I used it when I was 13-15 and you can make multiple chat rooms, have little to no lag, and there is different plans and variations for websites and there may be free options still, though I can't guarantee it. Take a look, I don't know what's changed since then.

EDIT: There is a FREE option for the chat and worth doing if it runs how it use to, it'll give you a way of integrating it in to the website, definitely worth looking at!

Well it will be a first for me to suggest anything. My money is on chatango. http://chatango.com/ (if its even possible) It was always reliable for me on proboards. So why not here? Unless the code can't be altered..It also can be used to make multiple group chats and rooms based on how you configure it.

Other would be tinyChat. http://tinychat.com/ It does room set ups. Only downside would be it also does multiwebcam groupings and allows for headset use..So I can see how that could be abused. Kinda like how chat roulette goes. but rooms can be password protected at least.

I think chat will on Sutton list but it way down there, She say that coding going more important and get the basic items and functions of the forum/gallery up and running. She going add those extras down the line

My guess is none of those suggestions have an-already-built in addon available for phpbb forum software so I'm ultimate question is who knows php, html, javascript, and sql with 80 free hours?
Any volunteers? No one?

I heard the Mchat(ours) is total junk, but I'm afraid that's all we got. I'll put it in my long list of stuff to check out and see if I can clean up the code to get it running better.

I reason I hate free live chat software is because it comes with hosted advertisement. So basically I host it, my server takes the load, and they are supplemented with revenue. Its kind of a total lose with them.

On a regular forum, not much. With you all! one heck of a lot! lol, you people are ridiculously active. I know that part of the issue is people using the chat while others are uploading images. Ever ftp a bunch of stuff while listening to music then all of a sudden the music stops and starts every 4 seconds. time issue with the Mchat here.

I hope we can manage to get a dedicated chat room of sorts, sure the minichat has it's own little charm, but it's one heck of a slow charm, that's for sure.

Pretty sure Userplane is a third party, or was when I used it, meaning it was hosted on it's own stuff.
Might of changed, take a look.
