"Reid, what are you doing?" Came the voice of one mildly curious SSA Emily Prentiss.

SSA Spencer Reid was currently in a more-than-embarrassing situation, the young man sitting in the Bull Pen--the nickname for the meeting room of the BAU Headquarters, with his chair away from the table, put facing the corner. He had been staring at the intersection of the walls for nearly ten minutes when Prentiss came in to get some files and had seen him there.

Reid gulped. "I'm not supposed to talk to you..." He said in a hushed voice. "Why not?" Emily asked, before blinking. "Are... Are you in time-out, Reid?" Spencer couldn't help but quickly jump up from his chair and turn around to face her, a red blush spreading across his cheeks. "No! I'm not!" He insisted.

He couldn't bear to tell Emily that yes, he had just recently been pulled aside by BAU Unit Chief SSA Aaron Hotchner, his bottom given a few hefty slaps before being sent off to the corner for initiating a prank war with SSA Derek Morgan that had went unbelievably awry. He had ended up launching a Cola rocket at Morgan--and ended up hitting Hotch--and Hotch had decided that enough was enough, and while he was cleaning himself up he made Reid sit here and wait for him to come back. Little did he know, that Hotch was just about to walk into the room and see him out of the corner without permission, even if it was to talk to Emily and try to get her to go away.

Hotch sometimes felt like he was more of a babysitter than a Unit Chief, Reid was such a child at times. He had to break up a prank war of all things and then put Spencer in the corner for some time out. He trusted that the boy would stay there while he was out of the room, because he knew better than to cross Aaron Hotchner, lest he wanted to go across the man's knee for a good smacking.

Hotch walked into the room, "Spencer, oh dear me." he frowned, you sit back down in your chair and face the corner." he ordered, making that swivel motion with his finger. "I did not say you could come out of the corner, now sit down on your bottom, this is your last chance, young man." he explained and then looked at Emily.

"It's probably best you don't talk to Spencer, he's been very naughty and he's in time out."

Spencer jumped a bit when Hotch came into the room, looking at the man as he told him to sit back down in the chair and face the corner, making the swivel motion with his finger. "B-But Hotch..." He started to say, before Hotch told him firmly that he couldn't come out of the corner, and to sit on his bottom and this was his last chance. He really didn't want to get a spanking for getting out of the corner, so he sighed. "Okay, Hotch..." He said quietly, turning back around and he sat back down, frowning as he faced the corner, able to hear everything that Hotch and Prentiss were saying.

Emily smiled a bit sympathetically at Reid, looking at Hotch when he said that it was probably best if she didn't talk to Spencer because he had been very naughty and was in time out. "Ah, I see." She said, grabbing the files she needed from the room and putting them into the crook of her elbow. "Poor Spence. I'd hate to be on your bad side." She said to Hotch, before smirking a bit as she glanced at him up and down--always a flirt. "Not that you have one." She teased, before winking and heading out of the room.

Spencer totally couldn't help but groan a bit at that. Emily was such a flirt. A pretty flirt, too. Hmph.

Hotch nodded his head when Spencer didn't put up a fuss and just turned back to the corner, "Good boy." he answered and then looked at Emily, raising an amused brow when she said she'd hate to get on his bad side, "Oh I think you would, too." he answered and then shook his head, "That's enough from you." he tutted then closed the door as she headed out. He heard Spencer groaning from the corner and put his hands on his hips.

"Oh dear me, I think Spencer wants to stay in the corner for longer because he can't be quiet." he told him and shook his head, "That's another three minutes Spencer Reid." he informed before sitting at his office and going over some paperwork, still able to keep an eye on Spencer.

Emily grinned at Hotch as he said that that was enough from her. "For now." She agreed, before heading out with a wink. One of these days, she swore, she was going to get Aaron Hotchner to take her out to dinner.

Spencer ended up groaning aloud at the obvious flirting from Emily Prentiss. It wasn't much of a secret that she was hot for Hotchner, he supposed that at least half of the female population at the FBI Headquarters was as well. He was a fairly attractive man and women liked a man that had power, and Hotch would be one of the most powerful men at the BAU... Speaking of Hotch, Hotch sternly said that he thought Spencer wanted to stay in the corner because he couldn't keep quiet, and Spencer was about to open his mouth to protest, but he ended up closing it and he stayed quiet, playing with his thumbs and sourly thinking about why he was stuck in the corner in the first place.

Aaron was satisfied from the new silence he got from Spencer, glad he was doing his time out properly now. He continued with his paper work and looked over to the grumpy Spencer Reid in the corner before then looking at the clock. It would be time to let Spencer out soon, but he wanted a sincere apology from him first. Sometimes you just had to treat Spencer how he acted, like a toddler.

After ten minutes, Hotch turned to face Spencer, still sitting. "Come here please Spencer, I want to talk to you."

Spencer sat in complete silence, counting to sixty three ten times in his head. Once he had hit 'sixty' for the tenth time, Hotch spoke up, telling him to come over to him because he had wanted to talk to him. Spencer breathed out a little sigh. "Okay..." He said, before pushing himself up to his feet and he had to stretch out a bit because his back was hurting from having to sit there for so long. He moved around the chair and came over to Hotch, looking him in the eyes as he came and stood by him, Reid playing with his fingers.

"Yes, Hotch..?"

Hotch looked at Reid when he came over to him and he sighed, looking into the younger's eyes, "You know better than to act so immaturely and make a prank war with someone, you are not a toddler or a child and you shouldn't be acting like one." he explained, his tone scolding. "Now I've decided against spanking you this time, but if it happens again I won't hesitate to take you to the men's room." he then took his hands and gave him a pointed look.

"Now I want a sincere apology from you, Spencer. If you cannot provide one, you will go back to the corner for another ten minutes."

Spencer shuffled over to Hotch and made sure to look into his eyes, because he knew that Hotch would make him anyways if he didn't. Hotch started off by scolding him, telling him that he knew better than to act so immaturely and make a prank war, because he was not a toddler nor a child, and shouldn't be acting like one. Reid blushed a bit at that, wanting to argue, but he had the good graces to just nod and say, "Yes, sir..." Hotch then told him that he wasn't going to spank him this time--hallelujah!--but if it happened again he wouldn't hesitate to take him to the men's room. "Yes, sir." Reid said again, looking at his hands before looking at Hotch.

"I'm really sorry that Morgan and I started the prank war, Hotch... And I'm also really sorry that you got caught in the middle of it and your shirt got soaked..." He said, keeping good eye contact with the older man as he spoke.

"Good boy." Hotch answered when Reid responded with a respectful 'yes sir'. He knew Reid was being sincere because it was very obvious when he wasn't. Clearly Spencer didn't want to go back to the corner, which unfortunately deemed corner time an effective punishment for Reid. He listened to his apology and nodded his head, a ghost of a smile appearing on his lips but not quite appearing.

"Alright then, come here." he opened his arms and brought Reid into a hug, "I forgive you, now then, shall we get some lunch, are you going to behave for the rest of the day?"
