To Catch a Thief {for Angel}

It was nearing dusk when Valen decided to stop his forward progress and set up camp for the night. This didn't leave him much light however he had grown so adept at setting up camp that it didn't take him long at all to accomplish this task and therefor he could continue his travels for longer before stopping for a break.

After locating a nice spot that was out of the way, with a good deal of cover so he would be less conspicuous, the black haired knight tethered his horse in a grassy spot so that the animal could graze and then set about making his camp. His golden eyes shifted about periodically as he worked, taking in his surroundings. His time spent traveling, acting as a Knight-Errant, had taught him to always be vigilant, even when you thought that you were completely alone.

A good thing, to be fair. There were many unsavory types in the world.

Case in point... A ginger haired fox, face covered with a light wrapping, was stalking his prey. Tyler was hungry... And desperate. He attempted to sneak in, and steal food, money, water... Anything.

Valen was just finishing up with his chores as it were when he heard the rustle of something. He might have overlooked that and ignored it were it not for the fact that his horse started to snort and paw at the earth, this getting Valen's attention more than the noise he had heard in the bushes. His horse was likely on edge because it could sense something that he himself couldn't and that caused the dark haired knight to look around, a keen look in his golden eyes.

Picking his chance, Tyler rocketed from the bush, heading to try and snatch the man's supply bag. He had to get it and RUN!

Thanks to the fact that his trusty horse had alerted him to something being off Valen was on his guard and so he caught sight of the streak of ginger that darted out of the bushes. Golden eyes narrowed as he caught sight of the thief's target, the black haired man darting forward. He had luckily removed most of his armor as soon as he stopped to make camp, to make his life easier, so he was quicker than he would have been were he wearing it.

Darting forward he made an attempt to grab the would-be thief by the back of his shirt.

"Hold it!"

[Angel]

Tyler gasped, and tried to dodge the grab.

...Which was not the best plan with his speed. The fox thief spun out, and bounced rather badly off the ground, his leg getting scraped enough to draw some bleeding. He tried to get up and finish his mission... Though he was far slower now. not good...

It seemed that he wasn't quick enough to grab the thief but none the less his actions had stopped the theft, just not in the way that he'd had in mind. His golden eyes focused on the ginger thief as he attempted to get up and at this point capturing him was a simple matter. Crossing the short distance that separated them Valen reached down and grasped the foxling by the arm, pulling him up to his feet.

"Just what do you think you are doing?" Valen questioned in a hard tone of voice, his stern gaze focused on the smaller.

The fox hissed as he was grabbed, trying to claw at the arm to protect himself. The lad was dirty, and clearly not well fed. He looked scrawny compared to most boys his age.

"Let me go!"

"You aren't really in a position to make demands boy," Valen said sharply, his keen eyes taking in the state of the little thief. "How old are you?" he questioned, not easily able to tell simply by looking at him. Which was something that he was somewhat annoyed by, he prided himself on being able to tell a lot of things about people simply by looking at them but what he could tell about this little thief was that he was malnourished.

Which he was thinking might have contributed to the attempted theft.

The fox glared at him and bared his teeth. His canines were, true to his fox attributes, a bit sharp... Though not very menacing right now.

"Eighteen. Now let me go before I bite you."
