New RP Proposal: Knight Company, Riesgard
First centralized RP. #Fantasy or #Riesgard. Chat-based RPG devoted to the training of the next generation of the Riesgard Company of Minor Castina in the Unveiled Region, a controversial and unorthodox Order that has stood the test of time against fiendish monsters and foreign invaders alike for over 300 years.
BRIEF HISTORY:
The Company is based on Minor Castina, a relatively defensible city perched on a hill in a nexus within a valley, capable of producing a feasible degree of self-sufficiency. Unfortunately for the budding village, the expansionist Vaal Kingdom has been making an effort of increasing their territory, pushing against the natural hordes and fiends within its realm toward the city-state, leaving it at the mercy of the migrating monsters.
A request was sent to Vaal as the city faced various random incursions and had fear of a full assault by the more organized of the green-skins, one they knew they would not survive. Vaal answered via sending an superficially representative platoon under Victor Riesgard. The captain was relatively inexperienced, but when Castina's fear came to pass, he answered the call and his company proved themself time and time again.
Unfortunately, Vaal saw little use for such a small state, and when the soldiers wore thin from fatigue and wound alike, the Capital simply ignored requests for reinforcments. Reisgard took a pro-active approach toward finding a solution. He started the Riesgard company, conscripting the young boys of the city into battle. As though protected by fate, this company would become local celebrities, and celebrated for its successes. Eventually even the Vaal Kingdom began to recognize and recruit from the Riesgard Company, its soldiers celebrated for their skill and discipline, as well as their willingness to improvise, recruit women, and employ/induct esoteric arts.

I like the idea of a new fantasy RP, but I don't like the idea of it focused so heavily on a mercenary company like this.

I don't think it sounds mercenary at all. From the description, they're an integral part of the city, and its sole defense.
I like it on the surface, but we'll see how the setting is nailed down.

Depends how you push the fantasy aspects in this which will make me interested or not. You didn't really speak much as far as that. I do like the fantasy concept though.

It's a military unit all the same. Town guard, army, mercs... The only difference is whether they work directly for the crown or not.

The Company is a typical under-budgeted group reliant on discipline and literally the city itself to survive. It is an introductory agent, and a spot to allocate the majority of subs and tops. I can still tweak and perhaps change around the idea, although I would like to maintain a Might and Magic based setting.
EDIT: So, basically downplay the military, up-play the city. Do-able.

It seems interesting, but lacking. I understand that this is still in the idea faze, but theres nothing more than a group of knights fighting demons. It sounds like Claymore, only less epic. I guess I'd have to see it for myself, and might be interested every now and then, but if this is all there is then I think we should take a different approach.

Honestly, after our discussion last night, I'm a bit skeptical as to whether we can pull this off or not. We have 3 active roleplays at the moment and it doesn't seem we have enough people to do this. It's a good idea, but I still don't know if it can be pulled off.
