Chekov gulped,"Ah well you see erm--I saw--No! I read this scary story a while back and I-Hey where are you taking me!?" Chekov squeaked when he was pulled up and away from the bridge..

"Hey, I know you like to keep this all private Jim, but whose going to poke fun?" Bones asked,"I'm sure a lot of people had some sort of punishment growing up, and besides your the captain, talking bad behind your back then..You know, you could tell them off, I would even."

Sulu huffed, tired of hearing the same excuses over an over. He was going to see for himself what was really going on with his friend. The older man stood and took hold of Checkov's wrist, dragging him off the bridge and into a nearby maintenance panel. "Alright Pavel, what is going on with you? And enough lies" he said quickly before the small russian man could answer with one.

Jim frowned at his friend "It's a matter of respect Bones. If they know what happened then i lose that respect."

"Hey! Sulu, we can't leave the--" Chekov tried to protest, but it seemed that the were leaving, and there was nothing he could do about it. And, it seemed that he now had no choice but to come clean about the whole thing that happened, "You'll laugh at me if I tell you.." He said softly, and looked away.

"Of course Jim, don't worry..Your secret is safe with me." Bones assured, giving the mans leg a well meaning pat.

Sulu frowned "no I won't, you are my friend and it would be wrong of me to laugh at you. Now what is it?"

Jim smiled with just a hint of bitterness. He was still a little upset about the situation but he loved Bones as a friend so he couldn't truly stay mad.

Chekov bit his lip. A few tears pricking in his eyes, and for a moment he looked much younger than he already did. Despite what his best friend told him, he still felt so embarrassed and childish, an it took a lot to finally manage to get out even the first three words ehuvb were, "Mister Scott..He...."

Bones saw that bitterness,and though it did break his heart a bit he didn't let it get to him. After all, Jim was safe now. And him.bring safe and alive was a hell of a lot more important than comfort. Still, he made a mental note to make it up to him somehow.

Sulu's concern only deepened when his dear friend started to cry. He put his hands in his shoulders in a comforting fashion and searched his face "Did Scotty hurt you?"

"I should get back to the bridge before the crew asks questions..." Jim sighed, moving to stand with a wince "How the hell am I going to sit in the captain's chair..."

Chekov swallowed the lump in his throat, "Well..yeah, but--" He began, but then Sulu started to storm off, and he quickly had to grab him, "No! He didn't beat me or anything Sulu he just--Well.. He *spanked me.*" He whispered.

Bones sighed, Jim really was playing with his heart..Well, he supposed just this time, a little bit of cream wouldn't hurt, "Wait Jim, how about I put some cream on it? It'll heal you right up."

Sulu felt a surge of anger pulse through him like a photon torpedo and was well on his way to give Scotty a piece of his mind when Chekov stopped him to clarify. The lieutenant commander stood there for a moment, caught between laughing then calling his bluff and punching him in the arm for scaring him. He chose a little of both. "He did what? I don't believe you. Show me" the Asian man crossed his arms over his uniform covered chest, waiting for Chekov to turn around and drop trou.

Jim smirked internally, it was too easy to play the old doctor sometimes. However be kept his smugness inside, not wanting to risk being denied some healing salve "really Bones? Thanks a lot" he smiled softly and limped over.
