Post The most imortant aspect of a spanking game.

Hello all! I've been lurking here for a great deal of time and have tinkered around with RPG Maker for even longer, leaving me to wonder while making my own spanking game what everyone here believe is the most important part of a spanking game. I know opinions will differ, but I thought it might be smart/fun to see what everyone feels about this.

I think a spanking game should have a good summary of everything you wrote. because history is important. without a good, entertaining or engaging story, the game would just be an uninteresting simulator. Length is important obviously. the more spankings the better. but even a few scenes in a good story can make a difference. the impact of choices is as important as the story for the same reason. it would just be a simulator, or worse a video. in that case I'll watch a real video. overall, there has to be a bit of everything. here we also had small games but they were masterpieces. This is why I take this opportunity to thank all the developers. I love you.

I voted for other specifically because i feel strongly about all of these, and some usually impact the other. As in, a game with an incredible story usually increases the length of the game, and sometimes (but not always) has player impact.

With RPGMaker games, I've gotten used to black screens / no art during scenes, which is perfectly fine. This is due to most of those games have a good story/writing to go along with it, to make up for it.
Length could be good or bad. IF a game is big and has a LOT of content then i would argue that its fine. The Passage for example, its a massive and long game with a TON of content. But making a game for the sake of making it longer isnt fine. Little content with tons of backstory/talking usually isnt as appealing. Which is the sole reason why i hate most VNs and mega long intro's.

In games, especially with RPGMaker, I mostly look for good writing/a good story, and player choices that make an impact. I dont usually prefer linear games as i like multi-ending games, but ill try anything . For me personally, artwork is a plus, but is not required for me to enjoy the game. There is several games on here with no artwork that are absolute bangers. DOAS, BOTW, Servants Tale, Vampire Reformatory, Where Monsters Dwell, Kaelis Apprentice, the longer version of SQ2, just to name a few.
(I know a few of these have "sprites" of the spanking scenes or w/e but i dont really classify that as artwork)

One of my all time favorite games on this site is the SpankQuest series. This is due to the freedom thats within the game. You can spank or be spanked by several people, as much as you possibly want. (mostly referring to SQ2 here). The game series has good art, good writing, good amount of choices. The only thing it slightly lacks is length, but i know Bagool is currently working on SQ2 some more. <3, and it is somewhat linear.

Another favorite of mine is Welcome to Puttsdale, which is purely text based with no images. Fantastic writing and tons of choices, with some player impact.

Apologies for the long rant, i just enjoy talking about this stuff lol.

I had to vote other due to as has been said, multiple factors being truly important. There has to be at least a minimal backstory, good length, not too difficult, choices have consequences too a point. Artwork not as big a factor, and too much art can actually cause issues slowing down computers etc...

Player impact feels like the most important thing for me. Whenever I play, I associate myself with the player character (which also makes character selection important, it's more difficult to imagine myself as a girl lol). So whenever I get spanked in a game because of my own choices, it really feels like I earned/deserved the spanking which makes it very immersive and exciting. When I'm just rail-roaded into doing something in the game and get a spanking for that, it's way less interesting and even immersion-breaking if the protagonist is forced to do something I wouldn't want to do normally.

Another thing that is related to that, is that I would prefer to have multiple ways to get to spanking content. Sometimes in games it's just "do the obviously bad/naughty thing and get a spanking, or do the right and good thing and miss out on the spanking". Sure, sometimes it's fun to misbehave and act like a brat and get a deserved punishments, but I also like when games have consensual and reward spankings, so you can act nice and still see the content.

Obviously all of this is coming from someone who likes to play subby characters lol, so if you plan on making a dom-centered game just disregard all this lol.

Now, about the rest of the vote options:

Story - it's not really important in a sense of having some kind of big exciting story with plot twists. The story itself can be really mundane and simple. BUT! The writing has to be good no matter what. You still need to have believable characters and good dialogue.

Artwork - completely unnecessary. Like people already mentioned, there are great games that have no artwork whatsoever. I would even say, no artwork is better than bad artwork, because I'd rather imagine the scene in my mind rather than look at something poorly drawn. Having good artwork in a game would be sweet though, but that's like an extra bonus.

Length - also not important. It's nice to have a longer game with a lot of different scenes with different characters, but there's nothing wrong with a short game with several good scenes. Especially if you can add repeatable scenes whenever that makes sense.

For me, I believe immersion is the most important aspect of a spanking game. Such as getting a spanking for a reason or the spanking being believable within the context of the game world.
A good story adds to the immersion.
Artworks main benefit is making a good game better.
Length of a game does not matter if the game is good.
Like artwork, good sound effects can only make a game better.

For me, the most important thing is the characters. That's kind of covered by story, but there is more to it. One reason why I like these games is because you get to know the characters more before any spanking happens and it makes scenes a lot more interesting to me. Even side chars that you only interact with once can convey a lot of personality just through an image/a description and a few lines of dialogue.

Number two for me is player choice, but not really in the visual novel style of getting different outcomes. In a lot of the longer games on here, like SpanQuestDX or the Passage, the main story is a good lead to follow so the world opens up organically and getting it to change with your choice would be cool I guess, but the most fun I always have is exploring places on my own. Getting to a new town and talking to everyone to find out which ones you can get a spanking from or just get an item that might help somewhere else. Welcome to Puttsdale does this very well, it doesn't have much of a main story but many little side adventures so that you can always choose who to interact with and go back to anyone whenever you want.

Artwork I don't care much about, it's nice when it's there but not very important as long as the writing is good and length is only good if all the other things are good too, on it's own it doesn't mean much.

if your interested in a good rpgmaker game witch even tho isnt the most complex feels amazing to play that would the the first DIARY OF A SLAVE by godspeak, theyre is almost no artworks just little sprites but a whole bunch of story and scenes available and little secrets, for me the best part of rpgs is the world itselfs and all it holds and this game is perfect for that
