[ The Scandalous Scarlet Moon ] - A superheroine spanking RPG

Hello everyone,

Those of you who played Pandemonium Cycle: The Potion Wars may have been aware that I threw that game out because the code was unmaintainable, and the story didn't really mesh with spankings. As a result, I've been rewriting the game from scratch (in Lua. A small language with a lot of good libraries for games), with plans to write a Silver Age style superheroine game.

Well, I have just released the first day of content. Go to my blog: www.spankingrpgs.com to download the game, and see what it contains.

Here is a brief list of what this game has:

1. Take on the role of a superhero(ine) defending the City of Generica, while also balancing work, school, and life. Basically, you can expect some Silver Age Spider-Man (except not as good) with a lot of spankings.

2. A tremendous amount of customizability. You can select your character's gender, appearance, and clothing.

3. A CYOA with RPG-style stats and combat.

The game's code is licensed under the GNU-GPL V3, and the content of the game (characters, events, etc) is licensed under CC-BY-SA.

In other words, you are free to take my game (code, content, or both) and do whatever you want with it, so long as if you decide to release anything that uses my work you:

1. Give me proper credit.
2. Release your content under the same or a compatible license.

If you encounter a crash please provide me the following:

1. What operating system you are running on.
2. A save file from just before the crash would also be nice.

You can e-mail me the save and log files to my gmail account `sprpgs`.

I tried using the program, but activating either of the batch files creates a window for a split second that then closes instantly.

Apparently I didn't have Java installed at all, thank you, it looks like it works now.

Thank you for reminding me that I should tell people to make sure they have Java installed. It's kinda embarrassing when your program won't even start up.

Even with Java installed i cannot seem to get the game to run at all still...

What OS are you using? Have you downloaded the correct version? The .zip archive if you're on Windows, the .tgz if you're on Linux/Mac?

There should be a file `Log.log` in that same directory, could you send it to me?

im still using 8.1 on windows and tbh im not the most technological knowledgeable person. i have the .zip file and i dont see the log.log

another dumb question..how do i do that? lol

Alright, try this. Open the folder that contains Scarlet Moon. Hold down the Shift key, and right click on a blank space in that folder, but not on any folders or files. The right click menu should show a command "Open command window here." Select that command.

A small black box will appear with a blinking cursor. In that window type "ScarletMoon" Then press Enter.

This time, the black window won't disappear even if the game crashes. If you could then either e-mail whatever the window displays after running it (sprpgs at gmail), or post it here (though the output will contain directory information, so if your username is your real name, or something else personal, then I wouldn't suggest posting it in a public forum), I would be grateful.

I, alas, don't have a Windows 8 box so I can't run it directly in your environment.

Also, make sure you have the most recent version of Java (some variation of Java 8).

And I thought that June would never come, how long has it been since this was announced? Either way the wait was certainly worth it, as the UI is a lot better than potion wars.
