Hmm.. well, mine is leftover from childhood. I was spanked a lot, and sometimes got excited by it, or the threat of it, from babysitters or teachers. Then there was the classic "The Elephant's Child" which was my very first exposure to spanking role reversal. I wanted to get back at "them".

You know, I think it's one of the universal laws of AnimeOTK that every member at some point posts a question along these lines. And why not? We're all curious and to be honest I don't think some people know themselves. And we all do this differently too so there probably is no definitive answer to this question when you get right down to it. Some people like the dominant and submissive aspect of it, some people use it as kinky foreplay, some like the pain, some of us roleplay, some of us like the closeness of it afterwards. Spanking does all kinds of things depending on how it's done.

I like how vulnerable it makes me feel, and something about the pain brings me deep inside to this head space and it relaxes me. Not saying it doesn't hurt, but for me it's mostly about that relieving of all the pent up stress and emotions. And the ache of it afterwards is exquisite. I love that word....you don't use it often. Anyway that's my take on this question. Take from it what you will.

Who knows? Maybe it's because I got a few as a kid, maybe it's because I've always been more partial to the lower region of the body than the upper region, maybe it's just nature's way, it could be any or all of those reasons. I only know I have a fetish and am proud to have it. True, I could break it down scientifically, but what would it accomplish? All I really need to know in this case is my gratification.

As a fantasist rather than a practitioner, it all goes back to childhood spankings, both at school and at home, and the fascination with comics and films which in those days were very non PC, and regularly showed spankings in graphic and colourful detail.
