My Daddy is a quiet man

Phillip Otis the dust brown haired blue eyed man sat at his desk at home looking over files while in a deep blue hoodie pulled over his black shirt that matched his black pants, He had been sitting at his desk for over a hour glancing at the clock he saw it was nearly time for his son Micah to arrive home from school,

Phillip let a small sigh knowing it had probably been a ruff day for the boy because it was a new school year at a new school new friends and new people to meet heck Phillip was still unpacking part of his room and Micah's room along with half of his toys but the bright side was he got to come home early every now and then from his job to see his son and make sure he was okay.

Eight year old Micah was grumbling to himself as he walked home from school alone since he had taken extra care to avoid everyone,he hated it here. Micah couldn't understand why they had to move,why he had to leave all his friends behind and start all over again,as if t wasn't hard enough for him to begin with.

He brushed his almost white blond hair from his eyes as he opened the door and half slammed it,a habit he had taken up since they moved, and made for the stairs since he was tryin to avoid his father right now for two reasons,he was still upset and the fact he had already recieved a yellow card from the school for "disrupting" the class though of course he didn't see it that way,but he wasn't going to try to explain it,rather he would just hide the note since it didn't have to be signed.

Phillip suddenly herd the door slam making a shiver go up his spine he was overly senitive to loud noises but that wasn't anything new for him he had did that his whole life but he just wasn't used to his own son doing it he had now make a mental note to self to add a door bumper to the door so it would bounce back when Micah tried to slam it so he would shut the door normally,

After the door slammed he stood up his height not much taller then 5''8. A small sigh escaped the quiet mans mouth as he fallowed his eight year old son up the stairs leaning on the door frame as he watched his grumbling child seemed to be upset about something but the man stood for another moment before knocking on the bedroom door he forgot to close behind him only saying "Micah..." Come out of his mouth his expression was enough for prove he was fairly worried about his son because he had once been in that same ordeal from his parents splitting.

Micah tossed his bag on the bed after he got upstairs and turned on his small Tv to play some games,letting out an annoyed sigh as he heard his father knocking on the open door and calling his name "What do you want?" He asked cold and annoyed,not wanting anything to do with him right now

Phillip expression changed from worried to a look with of question as he raised his brow at the boy before opening his mouth to speak but seeing the boys small backpack in the corner of the room tossed to the side with something sticking out from the opening "Micah... what did you do at school to day" His tone not sounding harsh but more worried again for the boy because he had already found one of them before they had moved but chose to let it slide because it was a ruff time for two but this worried him as he knelled down at the bag to grab the yellow paper.

Phillip though let out a small whistle that was so he could get his sons full attention off the tv so they could talk about the backpack contents.

Micah head snapped around when he whistle knowing full well what was expected of him "Hey that's my backpack! Leave it alone!" He half yelled in both panic and annoyance as he jumped to his feet but quickly noticed the yellow paper in his fathers hand and frowned at him "It's nothing" he said knowing the look "She told everyone to sit down,which I did,but I got up to get something from my bag" he said with a shrug "She made a big deal over nothing"
Of course he didn't mention the fact he hadn't even tried to be quiet about it,he was nothing like his dad who was naturally quiet

Phillip opened the yellow paper some to look at it staring up now and then to listen to Micah's story but found out something didn't add up with the boys story and what was on the paper "Micah...." Is all he could mutter before he walked over to his son holding his sons upper arms to his son's side "Is that the truth?" his worried face still showing but he was looking Micah dead in stright in the eyes while he waited for the answer he really hated being lied to by Micah but did know he was still young and some times the truth could be fudged from a eight year old boy,

Micah whined when his arms were grabbed,he didn't like where this was going "Course it's true! It's not my fault she thought I was loud,she was listening too hard" he said with a frown. Which he thought was true,ever since they had moved he had got away with pretty much everything but now that someone was offering resistance again he wasn't paying it any attention

His father let out a sigh before letting go of the boys arm's and petting his son's head gently as he held the paper between two of his fingers in his free hand "Listen next time.." he said almost too silently for his son but he decided to let the boy off with a warning this time because it was already a big day "I'll run you some water for a bath." he put the note in his pocket as he walked into the bath room across the hall to run water in the overly large bath tub for Micah's bath, After running the water he took a fluffy blue towel out of the cabinet in the hall for him to use he then let out a small whistle to let him know to come along to the bath room.

Micah jerked away from his hand as he petted his head and sat back down on the floor,turning his attention to his game he had already started,paying no mind to his daddy telling him about running a bath or even hearing him whistle as he had zoned in on the game and was focused.
