I'm not better than anybody, if anything I'm a mess.
but I appreciate the notion.
personally, I find focusing on things like success and glory in what I do?
a bit of a moot point.
sure a bit of recognition is nice and all,
but that recognition should be that enjoy doing what I love,
regardless of what others might think of me.
after all, if I don't enjoy what I'm doing,
it's just more work, right?

if its any consolation, i like to think that me feeling like I need to be somebody, is just another way of me stating that i feel in adequate, which i can understand in some ways, but i also know that for me art is more about urge to make something out of nothing, i mean i make my stuff out of microsft paint and a computer mouse, and while those are simple enough mediums, it doesn't really change the fact i just end making whatever makes feel comfortable, i mean sure i love it when people comment and tell me how good I'm doing, and so forth, but honestly i am more interested in just enjoying yet another random urge to make something. recognition aside i think i can feel quite happy with whatever i make with just that knowledge in mind. ^ ^

It very much shows that you're doing this with MS Paint and a computer mouse.
I wouldn't go so far as to say you're improving, in fact I'd say this particular one is rather poor in comparison to your others.

I could go on about why but I don't think that's the issue to be addressed: MS Paint is killing you.
I've said it time and time again and have 100% been proven right on this site every single time. MS Paint cannot be used to create good looking art except by the most experienced graphics artists (and even then it's a needless struggle for the sake of the exercise or proving the concept).

Drawing with a mouse with all those wonky lines of your previous efforts were elevated by the context, composition and arrangement. Drawn on a proper software either with mouse+paths or using a proper stylus will still be superior.

Any improvement you may feel your making is just (and I say this with the benefit of seeing many others making this identical mistake and those that corrected it improving immeasurably) you learning to either compromise your style for ease or learning workarounds and improvisations on MS Paint to try and brute-force the program to do things it was never intended to do.
Anything you are learning beyond this point is just useless knowledge of a dead-end software that won't help you long-term.

It's long since time to graduate to a proper graphics software. There are dozens of them available for free on the internet, many of them industry quality, where you'll be able to do what you want looking better and where any learning will be making you a better artist rather than a better improviser.
I cannot be clearer: Drawing with a mouse on MS Paint is a cul-de-sac full of spiders and it's killing you.
You are well passed the point of it being a benefit.

I see, so what you are telling me is that you would not use MS paint, because you see it as a terrible platform, and that it is limited and has a hard time pulling off "Good Artwork" that's cool, I am okay with that, but I like the nostalgia of using it, and the difficulty of using it is kind of its charm, it is, after all, one of the most basic options i could use, and it is not like i couldn't go looking for something that works better, but i don't because i am like to experiment with the programs I am using right now, I have however tried other options on occasion, but they just didn't suit me. and I even got my hands on an external drawing tablet, but i still like using my mouse more than that lately, and I am truly sorry if you feel so disappointed in my posts, but here's something to consider, If I chose to make my way onto your post and besmirch your choice of medium and tell you that your art is bad and that you can never improve in the way you like to draw, would you not feel insulted, Disappointed, maybe even discouraged? I told you that you are not getting better you are getting worse, would you not feel a slight desire to either retort back ignore me or report me or outright scold me for such behavior? I would imagine that maybe not you but others might, they might even feel a desire to straight up block you. but you know what, I am not going to do that, because me acting that way, would be childish, disrespectful, rude, demanding, and demeaning, to the person who got the courage to share their work, what right would i have to tell them that their software choice is a "Cul DE SAC full of Spiders" or that a simple program choice is "KILLING THEM" Answer? NONE. and Neither do you. you have a good day now ^ ^

It's okay, you can say my name, I'm not going to appear in the room with you because you summoned me at the intonation of an internet username.

@WP
No, I'm saying *you* shouldn't use MS Paint. And it is a terrible platform to achieve what you're trying to achieve. You are trying to force an inferior software not designed for the uses your putting it to and you've reached its limits. There's plenty of free alternatives that are better and I can suggest you at least two if you want, there's threads about it on this site too.
Perhaps you enjoy folding paper aeroplanes. I know I do. But they're an objectively inferior way of carrying cargo and passengers in comparison to a jumbo jet. But that's a redundant point, your post clearly states you are more into the process of making than the result. I never said that wasn't valid.

- childish, disrespectful, rude, demanding, and demeaning
This is an odd choice of words to throw into the mix. Like with pip and their unsaid name I feel this was aimed at me. I was none of these. At no point did I criticise you or your art. Read my comment again without your catastrophising spectacles on. I said I felt this wasn't as good as your others. You've spent about four paragraphs banging on about your right to an opinion when I made it very clear I was expressing one of my own and coached it in very polite terms that wasn't a criticism and which contained qualifying praise of your attributes as an artist.

I am a bit confused to the defensiveness of your clapback and the thesaurus of words thrown back. You're acting like someone insulted you (I didn't), they called you a shit artist (I haven't) or criticised your art (nope). I hope you're not leaping at shadows simply because my post wasn't relentlessly positive. Please do me the favour of reading it one more time and try to look at my comment positively and understand that I'm making a sincere suggestion in a cheerful manner. Eeh, perhaps I'm seeing too much but there's a lot of perjorative terms in your post that I feel it would help to address.

You ask an odd question. 'Would I not feel insulted, disappointed or discouraged at criticism of MS Paint?'
Of course I wouldn't. Nor should you. I'm RobM not Bill Gates. I don't own shares in microsoft. Wish I did, but I don't. I didn't make MS Paint. My self esteem isn't bound up in some software bundled free with windows.
Nor do I feel the sort of tribalism that some people get into with Nintendo vs Sony vs Xbox (and previously vs Sega too) where people have a loyalty to one brand and a rivalry with others.
It's so strange to me that people would have an attraction to a bit of code and take it personally when someone says to use a better one more suited and otimised to the task they're trying to accomplish.

I've got seventeen years on this site and others - showing my age here - giving art advise that has a track record of helping people improve and plenty of the advise I give to people is based on making the same mistakes myself in the past. I know of what I speak and I urge you to put aside ego, put aside false offence at non-existent attacks, and please listen.

As to the rest of your tirade. There's actually no obligation on this site to be nice. Our rules just say no shit posting. Only writing this because you ask what right a person has to post what I posted... erm, well on this site every right really so long as they're not flaming or shitposting. Yes, I know your question was rhetorical but I found it interesting. Plenty of people have had plenty to say about my stuff, especially my really early stuff. Fortunately I've got a thick skin and long since learned to leave my ego at the door. I've only left some of my art up to show my own improvement over time before I stopped drawing spanking/fetish art.

"Cul-de-sac full of spiders".

I don't think I could personally put up with the frustration of creating line art in MS Paint, with a mouse.

Even using proper software to color existing art, with a mouse, is painful enough.

Hat's off to anyone determined enough to go down that road, I guess.

I would rather have the option to delete this post of my own volition re upload it, and turn off the comments on it, than sit here and feel insulted over a simple software choice.

now see I havent really had the opportunity to feel comfortable drawing offline, so that doesn't really fit my nature, but i can say that offline I have more experience. than with my PC. what i wan to see if i can get my hands on is a all in one drawing tablet with a screen on it. but they can be a bit pricey for me. but god i would love to get my hands on one eventually must be nice to know that when you draw something you can just casually delete it without treating or smudging up your picture. your hands get dirty, your picture ends up getting dirty, and your always having to wash your hands .... sounds like a god send to me. someone i think tried to recommend one earlier but i haven't looked into it yet. ty for that by the way. I will check it out further when i get a chance.

I've used Paint within the context of an oekaki board that used an internal program that was largely MS Paint. If I could offer a suggestion, try using some of the tools available on it, along with drawing with the mouse. The line curve tool, in particular, I found very useful for drawing body contours, as the curved lines come out a lot smoother.
