Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
Grit your teeth, indeed...I'd feel sorrier for Tomoko, but let's be honest; her mum deserves a medal for everything she's put up with through the course of that manga!
As readers of Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dō Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! (No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular) know, there are any number of reasons that this could be happening, and several more people besides her mother who might feel tempted to do the same...Tomoko is a delightful character, but she can be, and frequently is, an exasperating one, as well.
At 24 volumes (in Japan) and counting, the manga is certainly longer. As for better, I suppose that depends on just how much Tomoko you're in the mood for...
I quite like her character, who reminds me of just how strange a girl I was when I was in high school, back in the misty recesses of the seventies. The story is much more detailed in the manga, and much of it shows her gradually finding a (peculiar) place for herself amongst a varied group of friends (& frenemies)
Her mother never actually spanks her, but she does fetch her a good slap at one point, which I think is in the anime, too. She runs afoul of the school authorities in one of the later volumes, which is pretty interesting, if you have an interest in Japanese teenage life. For me, I kind of imagine this pic as a consequence of that...
This is beautiful. The detail of the spanker's red hand is a nice touch.
And this reminds me of myself. My mom has had me over her knee with my pants down more times than I can count.
