Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
@damntohell0 I don't believe so, as we were still writing each other when I sent him/her the sketch. Right after doing that, I'd not receive any more answers. It's like they had vanished all of a sudden! And a couple of months later, their account had been deleted.
well ... at least you know he won't be coming back if his account got deleted and you can move to the next work ...
I commissioned an Artist (not from AnimeOTK) to work on a spanking themed comic, she requested 4 payments, 1 as deposit (so she could slot me in her waiting list, in front of the people who had yet to pay), 1 as soon as she showed me any 1 sketched page (so I could know she was done with her other commissions and had started working on my comic), the 3rd payment would then be made when she completed all the sketches for all 20+ pages, and the 4th and last payment would be made after she delivered the fully coloured comic.
I paid her the first time, 3 months went by (during which she shared with me pages of another commission she was working on, since it was similar to my own commission, and would allow me to know what to expect as far as quality went), then she dropped that commission as the commissioner could no longer pay for it and she had a medical issue with her hand.
Despite that, she started working on my commission, and, as agreed, I made the 2nd payment when she sent me some sketches (2-3 pages), but now, it's been 6 months since I last heard of her ... and I still didn't go to another artist to request this same comic, because I don't know if she'll contact me again once her university semester is over to continue the comic (which already happened once before, with that commission from the other dude from which she was sending me pictures) ... so yeah ... at least you're free to move on ... and I'm sure your "prejudice" caused by 1 unpaid picture won't come close to mine (as I did already pay 50% of that 20+ pages long comic, and only got 3 sketched pages out of it).
long story short: be happy, it could have been a lot worse.
Thats a real shame, I'm sorry that happened to you. Not a total loss if we get to enjoy it here - I hope that you get some comments that make the effort that went into drawing this makes it some reward.
Like Gus I'd note it goes both ways sometimes. I too have paid for commissions only to have the artist pull a vanish, unfriend me on discord and ghost me. In my case I no longer buy 'em after being shafted twice in a row.
There was a weird spate of it on hentaifoundary a while ago. An unknown person 'commissioned' dozens of artists to draw pictures of women with a mole on their cheek eating an ice-cream. Had no intention of paying them and vanished as soon as they got the sketches or completed pictures. There were so many artists made victims (who ended up posting the results as you've done) that it became its own genre search term at the time.

When it comes to commissions a good practice is ask for half the payment when you've done the line work, and finish it once they've paid the first half.
That way, at least if they stiff you, you get something.
If his account got deleted, what could be the reason for that?

I can only imagine what my gran would think if she knew I spent so much time an money on spanking art.
If financial trails pointed to pixiv, Anime OTK, or anything else, I imagine my family would erase and scrap it all.

Nah, my profile would blip out of existence if they ever found it. And anyone I was chatting to would assume I ghosted them until and after that happens.
@Gus1996 It's a real shame some people just cannot be trusted. I usually avoid asking for multiple payments, since I use PayPal and this site charges extra fees whenever I receive a payment in another currency and/or from a country outside of the EU.
@RobM I agree with you when you say it goes both ways; some "artists" can't be trusted either...
@theredbarn As far as I'm concerned, I ask for the full payment once the sketch has been sent. I try to avoid multiple payments because of the PayPal fees...
