Michael winced as he was scolded by his new mentor feeling awful for what he had done and even more so when Richard told him he had made him look incompetent in front of the others,"I..I apologize sir." He said softly. Now wishing he hadn't let his hunger get the best of him as he was lead away to a more private area to be punished. Even if he was not going to be punished in front of everyone he could still see eyes on him. Seeing some of the knights nodding as if they knew what was about to happen and a few squires looking curious and some shaking thier heads in pity.

Brutus turned away from his work right after the boy had slipped the three coins in his pocket. Unknownst to him Brutus counted his profit every night after a days work. However now he had no idea he smiled at the boy,"Well I'm almost finished with this sword and I'll be closing up shop. Care to sweep the floors?"

Richard lead Michael off to a private room and closed the door behind him. He ignored the looks they had gotten as they walked off. Many squires had been punished in the same exact way so the knights knew what was to happen. Richard walked over towards a chair, keeping a grip on Michael and he stood him in front of him, his eyes, giving the boy a firm stare. "When I tell you to do something it is imperative that you obey my orders. I have no use for a disobedient squire, nor will I tolerate one, is that understood?"

Cain looked at Brutus as he began to finish up his work. He gave a small smile and nodded. "I'll get right to it." He said as he hurried to the storage room to grab the broom and begin his sweeping. Once he found it, he headed towards the front and would make his way back for the night.

Michael nodded,"Yes sir I'm sorry." He said sadly already fearing what was to happen next. But there was no getting out of it. Richard had a firm grip on him. He knew exactly what the room they were in was for.

Brutus watched as he swept the floor and when he finished smiled proudly,"Good job boy." He praised and then stood. Before heading over to his money bag,"A few coins for a good days work will serve you well." He smiled as he reached for the bag.

Richard stared at the boy for another moment, before sighing. "You brought this on to yourself Michael." He guided the young boy over his lap and took down his breeches and underwear. Richard didn't think he'd have to do this so soon, but it was better to get it down now and hopefully leave a good impression on his expectations for him. He rose his knee a bit just so he'd have better access tot he pale bottom then kept a firm hand on the small of his back to reduce any squirming. He rose his other hand up and brought it down with a firm smack,

Cain smiled a bit at the praise, it always felt nice to be praised for good work. However, his heart began to pound when he went towards his money bag. What if he did notice there was some coins missing. Brutus was a large and scary man so who knew what he would do to a thief no matter what age! Cain felt so stupid. Had he simply waited few more moments, he wouldn't have needed to take any coins. "N-no sir...I don't need any coins. You told me, I'd do this to repay you for the three missing coins. I insist that you keep it." 'And tonight, I'll put the others back' He thought to himself.

Michael clung tightly to his mentors leg as he was laid across his knee. He was sure he was the worst squire ever. Being late and causing trouble on the first day he wouldn't be surprised if Richard refused to train him after this. Then, his bottom was bared and before he had time to really ready himself a sharp smack landed on his backside making him gasp out.

Brutus went to pull out a few coins for the boy and frowned. As if fate was being cruel to Cain, Brutus grumbled something under his breath,"Hmm funny those coins I received yesterday are missing." He said and turned to his apprentice and frowned,"Perhaps you might know where they are?"

It was only a second later that another smack came down against the backside. He didn't want to spank the child, especially so soon, but his hands were tied. It wasn't long before Richard began a steady rhythm, altering from left to right. "Michael, I want you to understand that obedience is very essential to becoming a squire." He lectured.

Cain stared up at Brutus with worried eyes. He gripped the broom tightly in his hands. He didn't want to make the situation worse by lying to him, but he didn't want to tell the truth and face the wrath of Brutus. So he simply stood there, the look on his face telling the truth for him.

Michael did his best to try and hold back any yelps that tried to escape when Richards hand continued to smack his naughty bottom. However, as the sting grew worse and as his bottom started to turn bright red he started crying out and squirming over the older mans lap,"OWW! I kn-know!" He replied,"I'm very sorry! AH!"

Brutus read the expression on the boys face and soon realized what the answer was,"I see...Well disappointed doesn't even begin to describe how I feel ." He said sternly before taking hold of him,"You stole from me and betrayed my trust. And for that you will be punished." He lead him to where a small chair was and sat down before pulling him over his knee.

It was only a matter of time before the tears began to stream down Michael's face. "I know you're sorry, but I'll be sure that you're truly sorry and learn from this." He said sternly as he continued to bring his hand down. He rose his knee higher and began to smack his thighs.

Cain looked up with scared eyes as Brutus walked over and took hold of him. He dropped the broom and followed him quickly. "Sir, I'm so so sorry. Please, I promise to never do it again. I'll give it back." He pleaded as he fished through his pocket for the gold. But as he grabbed it, he was put over Brutus' knee. He whined softly, having been put in that position before when his parents were alive. "No, please no, don't!"

The boy seemed to wail even louder when he was tipped forward and Richard started to smack his thighs. His friends had talked about and told tales about the knights. One of them being how hard handed they were. He thought they were over exaggerating until now. He gripped the mans leg more tightly as he cried out and tears streamed down his face and fell to the stoney floor of the room,"P-please sir!" He pleaded,"I ap-OW! apologize. I won't do it again!"

Brutus nodded at those words as he pulled the boy over his knee and quickly baring his bottom,"Oh I am sure you will never do it again. I am going to make sure of it." He said firmly and raised a big callosed hand before landing the first stinging smack,"No use in pleading you earned this." He said. Though he was not being too harsh. He did not want to cause permenant damage and blacksmiths were known for giving spankings painful enough to make even the toughest of knights start blubbering and pleading for mercy.

Richard sighed softly as Michael wailed. He looked at the now red bottom before him and landed one more smack to his sitspot before stopping. "There...we're done here Michael." He said gently, but his voice still firm. He let the boy lay there and cry, rubbing small circles on his back to calm him down.

Cain whimpered softly as his bottom was bared. He closed his eyes and gripped the gold withone hand and gripped Brutus' pants with the other. He tried to prepare for the smack, but nothing could as he let out a quick yelp and whimpered softly. "Ow! Please, I'm sorry.." He said, already feeling the tears come to his eyes.
