Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
This is Morgana from the show Merlin. I sketched this with the thought that Uther, being the bastard that he is, lost his temper and punished her severely.
I almost wasn't going to post it because it was more violent than I normally post, because I prefer relationships where they care for each other, but I couldn't help exploring the relationship between the king and his ward because it's so strained.
Some of you are probably wondering why her dress is ripped...I thought Uther would rip her dress like that just to demoralize her further, because Morgana seems to value her appearances (and why shouldn't she, she's a gorgeous woman. haha).
Anyway, I apologize if you all are scarred for life now. :/

Well drawn. Since I watch that show, I understand what you're saying. I would normally find your exploration a bit more violent too, but its a drawing is the way I see it. I'd think Morgana would still show a lot more anger if Uther did that. For sure she'd leave then. But based on the writing for that show, Merlin would find a way to save her.
It's still a wonderful picture, and I don't think it's as harsh as some things that are posted on this site. It's not as if you drew it out because you were releasing hateful feelings or something. I think it's great to show this side in art, too - it shows more than just, "Oh, she was punished physically." You can tell she's hurt, and not just physically, but you captured her emotional pain as well. That's something that shows you're an artist, not a spanko. So I think it's good that you're exploring that, even if we can generally all agree that we prefer loving relationships.

So sad that he ripped her dress and whipped her so brutally. I find this a beautiful picture because you've managed to make ME feel emotion - I want to reach over and dry her tears, put salve on her, and cover her up so she can have her dignity back. Being able to make viewers feel that about art is a power beyond just giving us things that appeal to our fetish. So hopefully that puts your mind at ease. ♥

any good artist / author knows that sometimes you gotta work on the other side of the fence. so if cute and gentle is your normal thing every once in a while you have to indulge in the more dark and harsh side. its a matter of balance. ^__^
Anyways i like how this picture came out. her expression and posture show her shame, yet restrained anguish. not wanting to lose face even further.
and this could just be me but do i also detect a hint of silent defiance? perhaps a tiny spark of outrage.

Aprion, I think you hit it dead on. That describes her personality perfectly and what I was trying to convey.
While a bit harsh in a way it is still a very emotional and beautiful work. I think lots of us at AOTK prefer seeing spanking used in caring relatonships, and not for cruelty, yourself included, but it can be interesting to explore the harsher possibilities. For me I don't sexualize this sort of situation, but some people may. But anyways I think it is fine to post given your reasons. Sometimes the best art is the kind that stirs emotions, and has negative subject matter. Good work!
The composition is beautiful, the way the dress drapes down the length of the drawing. Sure, it’s harsher than your usual style, but you still succeeded at capturing a very emotional atmosphere. Morgana looks so delicate here. Good work!
