Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!

Our system is... old... and needs upgrading. Using unicode characters can break the post. I'm actually surprised that smiley face that Wizard just did made it through.

I wrote a short explanation/guide that I used to link people to but I can't find it now.
At a guess you're trying to copy/paste something from another website in and thats what it isn't working. A number of websites - dA in particular - deliberate change characters and use webcode that they know older websites like ours doesn't support and can't read. Punctuation in particular - especially quote marks and stuff.
I can parler en francais or I can hablar en espanol and even biraz turkce yaz in comments (and restaurants!) - but it's very tricky to do that in the image description box without it getting confused if you use the actual non-english characters and letters. While the description box doesn't like a lot of non-english characters... mostly it's the punctuation that kills it dead. The reason the message comes up blank is because it just gives up trying to understand.
Either pass the text that I'm assuming you're trying to write into a text-cleaner, if you google, there's dozens of them, or write it out manually into the box.
If you're still having trouble let me know but 99.9% of the time just typing the message out rather than copypasta solves the problem.
For the most part with me, it's usually apostrophes, quotation marks or other similar stuff. If you type "it's", with a character that is not an apostrophe but looks similar, it will detect an unautorizhed character and then it won't go trhough.
Same if you use long dashes, cedilles, circumflex or grave accents, or signs that are not usually part of English/ISO. Just stick with the most basic English signs and eventually you'll succeed.
